The Bicycle Animation

If you would like to own a laser cut Bicycle Animation design please go to www.etsy.com/shop/katybeveridge1. These are not visible with the naked eye, it must be filmed to animate. This is a piece created to question whether it was possible to film animation in realtime. Part of my CSM 3rd year disseration project I was looking at proto animation (really early basic animation) in contemporary design. I've taken a lot of influence from other contemporary designers who are using these techniques to explore the way we look at animation and how its made. As stated on my channel I have interviewed animators such as Jim le Fevre and in my research referenced other people using this technique such as David Wilson and Tim Wheatley who did this before me. I developed this project based on what is being done in animation right now as well as a lot of primary research into the history of animation techniques. Big Thanks to my friend Stefan Neidermeyer who did the sound. The soundtrack is made up of various bike noies recorded during the filming process which Stef then remixed to make the amazing soundtrack. Thanks to Henry Chung (henrichung.wordpress.com Fernando Laposse (www.fernandolaposse.com) and Dominic Roup and their great bikes for making an appearance. Best Asian Animation In SICAF 2010 - Da.Hai

--------------------------------------------------- Da.Hai; preview (5:40) China Feature Animation B&T Studio (Beijing, China) --------------------------------------------------- The 2010 Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival The Seoul Int'l Cartoon & Animation Fest (2010) wraps this weekend, profiling inspirational and eclectic animation from the global cartoon community. The event has expanded but remains true to its mission. Screening indie and pro titles such as 'The Little Sun' (Taiwan; 2009), to short films 'Spring Comes" (Korea; 2009) and "En Agosto" (Colombia; 2008), to student films, such as "Lightmare" (France; 2009). Notably, the China feature project 'Da.Hai' (2012) looks to rival the best Asian animation has to offer (video available). In Da.Hai, viewers are acquainted with characters and deities who are charismatic, flippant, heartbroken, stoic, and all other manners appropriate for an epic fantasy about the emotional inclinations of gods and men. Eighty percent of the physical, animation production for Da.Hai is to be completed in-house by B&T Studio, whose staff would blossom roughly threefold to 60 or 80 artists at full production. Planet Nemo Animation (Paris, France) is contributing as well, helping raise financial support outside of China. From www.AnimationInsider.net

A 4-D film (or 4D) is an entertainment presentation system that combines a 3-D film with physical effects that occur in synchronization with the film. Since the physical effects are expensive to set up, 4-D films are currently only found at special venues, usually in amusement parks. Some of the effects currently simulated in 4-D films include rain, wind, and vibration. The use of water sprays and air jets are common also.

My Animated World

www.jellevandun.com, www.animatetheworld.eu, www.twitter.com/JelleVanDun This Stop Motion Animation takes you into another world. In this world no physical laws count. The only laws that count are the laws of the Animator. I animated myself through my house and the city of Breda, the Netherlands. It took me 6 months to complete. That is mainly because of the weather. It wasn't always suitable to shoot my scenes. The song I used is called Chinois by DJ Aphrodite and can be found on the record Aftershock. Enjoy! CINEMA 4D MoGraph Jigsaw Puzzle Tutorial - Part 1/4

See the result of this tutorial here: www.youtube.com In this tutorial, Tim Clapham from Luxx - www.luxx.tv - takes you step by step through the process of creating a Motion Graphics animation with CINEMA 4D. Download the tutorial files maxonuk.com You will learn how to use MoGraph elements such as the Cloner Object and how various effectors can be used to control the generated clones. Working with Release 13, Tim covers several of the newer features such as the XRef object and the new Physical Renderer. However, throughout the process, options are presented to enable users of versions prior to Release 13 to complete the tutorial. Part 01 (42mins): In the first section of the tutorial, Tim models a single jigsaw puzzle piece and then uses the Cloner Object in combination with various effectors to create an interlocking jigsaw puzzle. This covers several methods of achieving the same result and examines the pitfalls of using one method over the other. Tim also demonstrates a technique to optimise the scene for smooth playback using the new Xref object and also an alternative approach for users working with versions prior to Release 13. Important: If you are using Release 13, please ensure that you are using version 13.051 or higher to avoid a bug when switching between the proxy and high res mesh in the XRef object (the rotation of the jigsaw pieces is lost). Pokémon Black & White - All move animations with sound effects! Part 1/4

EDIT: Sound-Effects-Only version now available! www.youtube.com Inspired by DarkGesr's series of videos, it's the sequel nobody was waiting for: a showcase of all Pokémon attack animations in the generation V games, WITH sound effects, WITHOUT the random bits and pieces of music you might expect that to entail! All 559 moves that exist as of the release of Pokémon Black and White are featured. The moves are organized first by type (Normal, Fire, etc.), then by category (Physical, Special, Status), then sorted alphabetically. In this part: 0:00 - Normal (Physical) 5:06 - Normal (Special) 6:44 - Normal (Status) Songs used in the videos are identified in the annotations as they come up. Note that Secret Power's animation changes based on the environment it's used in, but it always borrows the animation of another existing move, so I felt no need to waste time showing each one. Questions? Did I miss a move or screw something else up? Yell at me in the comments and I'll sort it out. Link to part 2: www.youtube.com

3D Medical Animation Congestive Heart Failure Animation

3D Medical Animation, This is one of ASK Visual Science most complex animations to date. With a total runtime of over 8 minutes across three modules, the program incorporated over 50 separate models, from the molecular (Angiotensin I, BNP, Endothelin), to the microscopic (red blood cells, platelets, endothelial cells), to whole organs (heart, lungs, kidney, liver, vascular system) and even a whole body. Creating, managing, and animating all of these digital assets into a coherent program with a strong narrative using a team of 4 modelers and animators working concurrently - was a challenge. Our client also had a specific tradeshow in mind to premiere the final movie, which was only 12 weeks from project initiation and gave us a fixed deadline. We managed to bring the whole program in on time and on budget - an innovative achievement.

The inner gear has 24 teeth and the outer gear has 40 teeth leading to a 3:5 teeth ratio. This defines the relation of the shapes of the inner and outer gears. The shape of the inner gear can be expressed by these formulas with a being the angle: x = r * sin(a) y = r * cos(a) r = 1 + cos(3 * a) / 9 The shape of the outer gear is calculated using an iterative fitting process. Even though this is just an animation, I have a physical version here printed in 3D by shapeways.

Auditory Transduction (2002)

This 7-minute video by Brandon Pletsch takes viewers on a step-by-step voyage through the inside of the ear, to the acoustic accompaniment of classical music. Pletsch, a former medical illustration student at the Medical College of Georgia, first built a physical ear model and mapped which frequency ranges hit which parts of the inner ear. He then created digital renderings of each part of the hearing pathway using several software packages. A narrator describes how the sound waves travel through each portion of the ear, and how hair cells translate the vibrations they induce into nerve impulses.

Lipid Structure Function Animation

It is important to understand the relationship between the chemical structure of a fatty acid molecule and its functionality, termed structure--function relationship. This structure--function relationship concept is illustrated by exploring the effect of carbon--carbon double bonds on the physical state of lipids at room temperature. Students will be able to explain the relationship between the chemical structure of a fatty acid and its melting temperature and state at room temperature, solid (fat), or liquid (oil).

Blender Animation - Ultimate Dominoes

This simulation/animation took about 40 hours to create over the course of a few days. It started out as just a huge domino simulation but turned into a sort of Blender 'advertisement' somewhere along the way. I was very new to Blender when I made this, which is why the textures are boring and some of the camera movements are kind of odd. :) Due to the massive amount of memory required to handle the physics for this many objects (800 including the plane), I was only able to simulate 2 to 3 seconds at a time. Not only that, but in order to keep the kinetic energy fluid I had to overlap every single 3 second simulation, then scale the 800 objects in the action editor to get the physics closer to real speed. The scaling process used 100% of my Macbook Pro's RAM and crashed Blender at least half the time. Also, getting the balls to bounce realistically and the large dominoes to fall properly took a lot of trial and error and tweaking of the physical properties. Of course I didn't realize any of this until after I had modeled everything, so it ended up being a nightmare to get the simulation to work, but I learned a lot so it was worth it.
