Boris Johnson London Mayor First Interview

This video is from 2007 at the time when Boris Johnson had recently announced his intention to stand for the Conservative Party nomination to face Ken Livingstone in the fight for Mayor of London at the 2008 elections. He gave his first TV-style interview on the topic to 18DoughtyStreet.com, Britain's first internet-based political TV station, which was based in Doughty Street just down the road from where Boris used to have his office whilst Editor of the Spectator Magazine. Here he chats one-to-one with Iain Dale, the anchor presenter for the station who has since become a popular LBC presenter and founder of Biteback Media. Apologies that the quality of the video is poor - the budget for this project was notoriously tight to the point where we had to tape over original recordings. The surviving material was saved in digital format, but in low quality to save hard drive space. On closure of the station in 2008 all surviving footage was released under a Creative Commons NoCommercial ShareAlike Licence.
