Usain Bolt ran the fastest time in the world this year on his way to 100 metres victory in the final Diamond League meeting. The Jamaican clocked 9.76 seconds in Brussels, 0.02 quicker than the previous best, which was set by his countryman Asafa Powell. With 30 metres remaining Bolt, who made a sluggish start, was struggling to overhaul Nesta Carter in the lane adjacent, but peeled away from his rival in the final strides. British duo Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Mark Lewis-Francis completed in sixth and seventh respectively, with Lewis-Francis posting the best time of his season. In the race immediately after Bolt, his training partner and world 100m champion Yohan Blake responded to the challenge, running the second-fastest 200m of all time, beating Walter Dix to the line with a time of 19.26. Blake's previous best this season was 20.33. World champion Dai Greene finished second to Javier Coulson in the 400m hurdles, but the Brit still claimed top spot in the table. Greene was well placed heading into the final straight, then faded badly as Coulson peeled away for the triumph in 48.33. "I've put the hard work in all year and this is my reward," Greene told the BBC. "I trained all year round for the Worlds, so once they were over I didn't want to be training, and my coach has been on holiday so I've just been by myself. DAEGU, South Korea 02/09/2011 - Two-time Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica won the women's 200 metres at the world championships Friday, beating 100 gold medallist Carmelita Jeter of the United States. Three-time defending champion Allyson Felix of the United States had to settle for bronze. Campbell-Brown had already won silver in the 100 and finished the 200 in a season's best of 22.22 seconds, 0.15 faster then Jeter, who fell just short of the first sprint double in two decades. Felix was third in 22.42.

Just 3 days after the 400m final where Michael Johnson ran an Olympic Record of 43.49, Johnson also broke his own 200m WR of 19.66 he set back at the '96 Olympic Trials with a clocking of 19.32 at the 1996 Olympics to become the first and only man to win both the 200m and 400m at the same Olympics. Firstly, thanks to everyone who helped me buy pies and urns you know who you are =) Finally got dungeoneering to 200m, I could have been rank 70 or so if I had cared but I was hesitant to rush it as I really enjoy dungeoneering and it will be annoying to get no xp from it, Rank 169 is cool though.
