22 Ammo Test Part 2 of 4 CCI Mini Mag (S&W M&P15-22)
DISCLAIMER: I am not a firearms expert nor am I an expert in bullets. This is just a simple small scale test to collect some data and possibly show a trend on certain .22 ammunition that I have PERSONALLY shot out of my Smith and Wesson M&P15-22. It seems almost every 15-22 out there likes a different brand/model of bullet. I'm just here to share my experiences with you guys. The gun we will be using for this test is a Smith and Wesson M&P15-22 using 5 different factory S&W magazines (Second Generation). Modifications to the gun include Troy 5.56 Claymore Muzzle Brake (ya ya I know it's 100% pointless to have this on a .22 but it looks wicked and that is 100% the reason why its on there), Troy clone BUIS (rrages.com), Daniel Defense rail covers FDE, Primary Arms Aimpoint Clone Red Dot, Primary Arms 3x flip to side magnifier, MagPul AFG FDE, MagPul MOE grip FDE, and a MagPul MOE stock FDE. The ammunition we will be using in part 2 is CCI Mini Mag (100 rounds of hollow point and 150 rounds of round nose). I honestly did not realize that WalMart had given me a box of hollow points until I had started to load them but they added an interesting data point. Here's the break down of how the ammo performed. CCI Mini Mag 40 grain round nose: 150 out of 150. These ran 100% reliable in my M&P today. Like I said this is the first time I have shot Mini Mags with my 15-22. This leads me to believe that the wax coating on the CCI Tactical may not be the reason for so many failures as <b>...</b>
