It is important to repoint a building correctly using safe methods of mortar removal to prepare the wall and using the correct mortar mix to install back into the wall. I explain in this tutorial how to create the Transforming, aka 8-pointed Paper Ninja Star or Shuriken. It is a type of Modular Origami Model in which we will interlock or join 8 smaller Modular Units (pieces) to get a larger one. All that is required is 8 small square sheets of paper. I am using 9cm x 9cm dimension paper I found in staples, but any Post-It notes should work fine. Smaller origami paper should work well also. If you want to use printer paper, that is fine (but you will wind up wasting a bit). Just make the printer paper into a square, like I do in my other origami tutorials. Then split that square into 4 pieces (fold in half both ways and cut/tear). Either that or you can use each sheet of converted printer paper as a modular unit and make a LARGE transforming ninja star! Does this mean a nuclear strike is on the table? Apparently so. In this case, I would like to make sure we actually follow the black letter of the law provided in the Constitution that explicitly grants Congress the sole authority to declare war. This week I will introduce a concurrent resolution in the House to remind my colleagues and the administration that Congress alone, not the president, decides when to go to war. It is alarming how casually the administration talks about initiating acts of war, as though Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution does not exist. Well, I am finally getting around to attempting to get my dvd's done. So many people have been requesting them. My apologies to all who have been waiting. Times are so strange and strenuous. I find myself working 3 ties harder than I ever have just to keep up with the economy. This is a first round attempt at a full commentary drawing of a dragon for dvd. I'm not sure I will actually use this one, however-- the art table I drew it on was shaking like crazy... I know if I was the viewer who bough a dvd with that goin on, it would drive me nuts. I will probably do a few more before I select the right one to produce for the final edition of the dvd. I am starting with the basics and drawing with ball point pen, and pencil in others for these dvd's. Believe me, that is the BEST way to explain how and why I am doing these the way I am doing them. Actual drawing time to get this one done was 48 minutes. Enjoy!

The 2nd episode of the new Fox television series, Lie To Me, opened with a quick debunking of the polygraph. Cal Lightman, the shows main character, is a behavioral scientist who specializes in the study of facial expressions. Asked by the Department of Homeland Security to evaluate its new hand-held polygraph, he graphically illustrates how it is no better than a primitive trial by ordeal in which a person accused of a crime must hold an egg without breaking it. It's worth noting that the questions identified in the segment as "control" questions ("Do you work for the Department of Homeland Security?" and "Do you have black hair?") are actually _irrelevant_ questions and would not be scored. Unfortunately, the hand-held lie detector seen in this episode is not something made up by Lie To Me's screenwriters. In 2008, the US Department of Defense began fielding just such a hand-held polygraph in an attempt to screen out terrorists among the local populations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
