LCP VS the Bodyguard is a close competition; both are excellent little .380 options. In my opinion the LCP has the advantage of lighter weight, ergonomic grip and melting of the hard corners. The Bodyguard benefits from an excellent set of sights, and hardy design with a functional slide lock. I like both designs but shoot the BG380 much better, which is due to the sights and trigger break characteristics. The BG380 does have a manual safety which I'm not a fan of but am glad to see that is very low profile and snag free. I like both of these little guns, and feel they are hard to beat as a light weight true EDC option. Yes a .380 is not my preferred caliber for social work but youtube is filled with EDC videos which showcase excellent guns as "EDC" weapons and I have yet to meet any CCW holder that I know carrying a Glock 35, 22, or 23, or even the famed 1911 "daily" and that means every day. It's expensive but to many it will be worth it. The outstanding Sig P238 achieves high levels of portability and performance with its slim 14 ounce carry weight (empty). It makes an excellent backup gun for an officer or a primary and comfortable-to-carry gun for a CCW holder. For 1911 afficionados, it offers the exact same battery of arms which could simplify training. In some ways, the Sig P238 resurrects the defunct Colt Mustang design, a gun that was also very small, lightweight, and comfortable in carry. However a Colt Mustang this gun is not: it's much more reliable and its performance is a testament to proper R&D achieved by Sig Sauer. In about 250+ rounds of fire, we found the little P238 to be extremely accurate, comfortable and fun to shoot, and totally reliable with both PMC, Winchester USA FMJ, and 90 gr Federal Hydrashok loads. Few .380s achieve such performance without break-in straight from the box (except perhaps the excellent Walther PPK, another .380 favorite) and impressed us. The ergonomics are excellent with well placed controls, no sharp edges, good looking and high traction aluminum grips, excellent Tritium-dot night sights, and a well-placed mag release. Firepower, like in most subcompact .380s is limited to 6+1 but the gun reloads fast. The single action trigger adequately smooth, consistent, and helps achieve the impressive accuracy. Field strip and maintenance on the P238, as shown, is fast and simple which again is unusual for some .380 designs <b>...</b>

The 9.6 oz Ruger LCP is another excellent choice as both an officer's backup gun or a civilian's primary carry gun. As stated in the review video, a 24/7 carry system generally has to be comfortable for its user to employ high percentage carry. And the LCP is indeed comfortable in carry. It is a close copy of the Kel-Tec P3-AT but does incorporate a couple of notable improvements: a memory groove above the magazine release, a convex shaped manual slide lock (should be function as last shot hold open as well!), a recessed mag release button, more precise molding on frame (glass-filled nylon), excellent build quality, and a slightly smoother trigger. For these reasons I do slightly prefer the Ruger LCP over the Kel-Tec P3-AT (with more competitors on the way) since their cost is similar. But the LCP also shares several of the design limitations inherent in these sub-compact polymer pistols: like low contrast milled-in sights, stiff DAO trigger, and mag release that can be easily actuated with the thumb. The sights are unimpressive and provide little precision. But with proper trigger control, the Ruger LCP with its 2.75 barrel is capable of impressive accuracy for its category. Expect to spend some time mastering this trigger and learning to maintain sight picture throughout the pull (rec. dry fire practice with snap caps for this). Rapid firing benchrest groups with the LCP (or any tiny pistol) is pretty much impossible but rounds can easily be kept into a plate sized area <b>...</b>

It ain't the best choice in most situations. And yet the .380 is chosen probably more often than it should be for concealed carry defensive use. It remains an underpowered caliber compared to the 9m and especially the .40 S&W. However sometimes SAWC will dictate its selection as a primary armament. Perhaps in the POUs of backup, survival kit option, "T-shirt and shorts," "super carry" gun (discussed), or in other systems where ultra-concealability is needed, the .380 serves well. You are much better served with IT than without anything at all. But in terms of ergonomics, power factor, and especially economy, it's comes in a distant second to a well-designed sub-compact 9mm option like the KelTec PF9, Ruger LC9, Walther PPS, Kahr PM9, and several others. These guns weigh more than most compact .380 options but still give extreme comfort in their carry (the most important attribute which will decide if you have your gun or not when you need it!). For a little extra weight, you get a lot more performance. At 15 oz for example, the excellent KelTec PF9 offers superior ergonomics, sight radius, grip, power, improved firepower, and in some cases better reliability. And yet it's just as thin and easy to carry as most .380s. Look carefully at your choice of .380 as a primary armament. In some POUs it does make good sense but for most people it might provide a shockingly underpowered and expensive-to-shoot handicap in the goal of self-protection.////////////////////////Music <b>...</b>

Kel-Tec is rightly known for bringing high value, reliable auto pistols and the SU-16 series to the shooting public. They all have garnered a solid reputation for reliability and overall good accuracy. This is the table top review of the excellent P-3AT .380 pistol, previously shot at the Nutnfancy Tactical Clinic in the desert (see vid). This is an excellent backup handgun for police officers or even a primary gun for CCW holders and armed, responsible civilians. It did hiccupp once in the break in period, as predicted by the owners manual, but was completely reliable thereafter. Its high points are its decent DAO trigger, good accuracy, and most beneficial, its extreme lightweight and slim profile which make it very comfortable in carry. Its sights do indeed suck (low contrast and imprecise) and could use a lot of improvement but of course it will be a rarity for the gun to engage beyond 10 yds. Judging from my experience in the clinic and in years past, the P-3AT is a high value .380 option that could save your life. Nutnfancy highly recommends this little affordable auto. Velocity coming out of the small 2.75 inch barrel of the S&W Bodyguard .380 is consistently in the 1130 fps range, AWSOME! This is the first round I have tested in .380 that actually meets or exceeds the 1000 fps mark. On the down side I did have jacket and core separation with all expanded rounds and one that did not expand. I talked with Tim from Buffalo Bore and he stated they are currently using Sierra HPS and will load Gold Dots again when available, which would make this a strait 10/10 for me. I told him if they could work out an agreement with Winchester to load the PDX-1 at 95 grains and get it coming out at 1050-1100 fps it would hands down be the best defense .380 loading in my option. The recoil on this round is very manageable; only slightly more web of the hand impact over standard rounds, much less than the Magtech Guardian Gold +P load, which was near painful to shoot. I was shocked to see the high velocity on the chrony based on the felt recoil. Excellent load in my top 3 loads for daily .380 carry with the Corbon DPX, and Winchester PDX-1.

A quick review of the Bersa Thunder .380 concealed carry model. Yes I know this vid sucks, but this is a redux of an older vid of mine that alot of my subs have never seen, from back when I just started making vids, so even though I may not be as smooth and sexy as I am now .... lol, the vid still gives some good info. Also it needed to be edited to remove some music that I had on the original vid from back when I didn't know that u shouldn't use copyrighted music even in short little bursts.

Reviewing the Bersa Thunder 380 Pros , Cons , Mods , Breaking down & Test I put as much info in this clip that I could think of so its kind of big and maybe alittle long winded for some people. Note: I was still alittle sick when making this clip so I say a few things wrong Like ( Its not chambered 308 LOL I think a 308 handgun would rip your hand off ) Its in 380acp and Its a Double/Single Action.

I just recently purchased this handgun and was not all that impressed with the shooting performance. **The gun is well made and has many extras for instance you can shoot the gun with the magazine removed**, but actually shooting this gun is really rough and hard. I even held the trigger guard in the front to try and prevent the trigger guard from smashing down on the grip fingers. Overall this is a good backup handgun for experienced or novice shooters. But unfortunately I don't recommend it for beginners or for a first gun purchase. IMO
