People hanging out of a crowded train in India!
A crowded Indian train with passengers hanging out of it! No, don't let this train video make you fear your next train journey in India. This is NOT your typical train ride here, but a train that largely transports labourers from towns in Uttar Pradesh state to New Delhi, for the working week and then back to their villages for the weekend! (Most of them are travelling ticket-less!) "Indian Railways, abbreviated as IR, is a departmental undertaking of Government of India, which owns and operates most of India's rail transport. It is overseen by the Ministry of Railways of the Government of India. Indian Railways has 114500 kilometres (71147 mi). of total track over a route of 65000 kilometres (40389 mi) and 7500 stations. It has the world's fourth largest railway network after those of the United States, Russia and China. The railways carry over 30 million passengers and 2.8 million tons of freight daily. India Train Ride (High Speed Movie) Indian Railways भारतीय रेल
This video showcases both normal and high speed footage from my train rides in India using Indian railways. I used my Casio EX-FC100 high speed digital point and shoot camera to capture both slow motion and high definition footage. The train rides included The following destinations: Old Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Amritsar, Agra, Varanasi, Kolkata. This video highlights the beauty, diversity, poverty and bustling hive of activity that one can see outside of their train window. One will notice monkeys jumping out of trees, darting across tracks and running through farm fields. One will also see cows grazing in the fields, in garbage cans and nearby the tracks. Some of the scenery is particularly stunning with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The India railway stations are buzzing with activity as Indian tea men (Chai wallas) sell items, passengers hop on and off board the trains and vendors sell meals. At times we passed through colourful slums, where life existed on the train tracks along with hectic train stations filled with passengers. One can notice action on board with passengers looking out the window, playing games and viewing the scenery from the exit doors. All of this footage captured in slow motion (high speed) was not registered with my naked eye. In other words, I noticed things from this video that I couldn't see while taking the train ride.
