Short Video of a VAustralia Boeing 777-300ER taxing to the runway at Sydney International, then throttling up the GE90-115B Turbofan engines up before blasting off down the runway then lifting into the sky for the flight out over the Pacific to Los Angeles My flight was on the 2/7/2011, and i was throughly impressed with VAustralia! The Boeing 777-300ER is an absolutely fantastic Aircraft, both very clean and comfortable. The biggest advantage over most other 777-300ER flights over the pacific is that in Economy, VAustralia uses a 3-3-3 seat config, rather than the standard 3-4-3 config. While this does not seem like much of a difference, it really is. Seats are wide and very comfortable, and the entire cabin feels very open rather than cramped. LED mood lighting is excellent, makes it feel like night time while it is still daylight and makes the flight much more relaxing. Flight attendants where very cheerful and helped in every way possible, and the meals where all surprisingly delicious! IFE was top notch as well, with many feature films and TV series to keep yourself entertained along the way Perhaps the only niggle was that the flight left 45min late due to a late departure from LA the night before, and as a result 40 tons of fuel still needed to be loaded while we boarded the plane, but we only arrived into LA bout 15min past the scheduled arrival time, so not an issue Overall i will fly on VAustralia when ever i can, fantastic service and a fantastic Aircraft. Two of us booked Economy seats on Air New Zealand's new 777-300ER for a recent long haul Pacific crossing [Aircraft ZK-OKN]. We were given the option of paying extra to upgrade to the "Skycouch" [seen at 4:35]. Very nice as you are guaranteed to have the center seat open. The "couch" has numerous configurations; you can use it as a leg rest, or in the extended and locked position to make a bed. During boarding you are given a thin mattress pad and two extra large pillows to use. You are also given a seatbelt kit that allows you to stay secure no matter what size (children) or position you're in. (There are metal brackets under the seat pocket in front of you to clip the belts to.) Pacific Economy was really nice on the 777-300s. The Inflight Entertainment System is very good. In addition, you can order drinks, snacks and other items that are delivered to your seat. Pretty cool. Self service shelves at the exit rows allow you to have a snack or drink whenever you like. The most noticeable feature of our Air New Zealand flights however, were the really friendly crew. We flew SFO-AKL-SYD-CHC-AKL-LAX, and every flight found us commenting on how nice the crew was. They all looked sharp and were consistently helpful and cheerful.

Flight from Dubai to Zurich on Emirates Airlines Boeing 777-300ER. Flight duration was about 6 hours and altitude about 38'000 feet. Due to some unknown reason the plane was almost empty with a payload of only 20-30% (estimated). Less passengers means better service with Emirates. Both food choices were still available and I had a lot of privacy and space. If this was an ultra long haul flight I would have slept in the middle for a while ;) Please don't hesitate to ask for further information and enjoy!

On January 20, 2008, 55-year-old Cathay Pacific Captain Ian Wilkinson and his 48-year-old co-pilot Ray Middleton took delivery of a brand new 777-300ER from the Boeing factory in Seattle. As part of the acceptance ceremony, the two pilots made a low pass of the runway complex before continuing with their onwards journey. Cathay Pacific chairman Chris Pratt was one of the fifty or sixty VIP passengers on board the flight. On arrival in Hong Kong Wilkinson was congratulated and celebrated the arrival with airline executives. He even got a mention in the airline newsletter, with an accompanying picture of the executives raising a glass in celebration of the maiden flight. The flypast was, for all intensive purposes, considered to be 'standard' procedure, and appears to have been something that was conducted as a matter of course when taking deliveries of new aircraft. As a result of this 'stunt', Wilkinson, who was at the time the Cathay 777 fleet manager, was sacked from his high paying job, and Wilkinson's first officer Middleton was also suspended from training duties for six months. What happened between the bit where the pilot was praised, and where the pilot was sacked seems to be a little bit of a blur! It is suggested that the video itself was responsible for making information available to local authorities, which in turn forced Cathay into taking their own action.

Night time take off from Dubai to KL on route to Melbourne. Longer time getting home, from the time I left my twins house to getting in the door it was close to 31 hours, one of those as the flight was late leaving Manchester. There was also a longer stop over in KL. What is it they will not let you take bottled water though the X-ray and therefore you can't take water onto the plane, unlike down here in Oz where you can take water on to the plane. Ridiculous.

02/25/2012 Boeing delivered two new aircraft to Cathay Pacific a 777-300-ER and a Cathay Pacific Cargo 747-8 Freighter. The delivery ceremony included Dragon Dancers (Mak Fai Washington Kung Fu Club Lion Dance Team) to bless the crew and it's passengers. The Dragon Dancers went outside where the two aircraft were parked nose to nose to bless the new airplanes.

SIA 77W landing at GRU after a 10:30 hrs flight from Barcelona. An amazing flight with a great airline. We had some turbulence during the final approach and bounced a bit when landing. There were lots of CBs on our way. SQ is a great airline with an excellent inflight and aftersales service, even in economy class. When I arrived at São Paulo airport my suitcase had been damaged. They came and picked it up at my home and brought it back fixed a few days later. They even called me to check whether I was satisfied with their service. Some months before I had a similar incident with Trip, a Brazilian domestic airline and they threw the blame on me saying that my suitcase was overloaded (it was not, but they denied their responsibility). Needless to say that the 77W is a great plane to fly in. No doubt I will book with SQ my next flight to Europe/Asia.

Onboard with B77W Air India flight 310 (BOM-DEL-HKG-ICN). Takeoff from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) in a clear morning sky on its final leg to Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN), South Korea. The same seat number (37K) just like my ride from Incheon to Hong Kong 5 days before with the same airline. However, the window's dirty and there's a scratch on it, and unfortunately it happened to appear on this takeoff video. I didn't know that the scratch also appears in my camera screen when I was recording the video. Later when the plane is cruising on flight level 370, I watched the playback of this video and then I realized that I should have filmed it from a higher angle. Flight time was 10:30 hrs flying over the Mediterranean Coast, Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Atlantic Ocean, Oraro, Tasil, and entering Brazil througn Natal. SQ is a great airline with an excellent inflight and aftersales service, even in economy class with iPad-sized PTVs (you only get these in coach in EK, QR and probably a few more airlines). When I arrived at GRU, the destination airport, my suitcase had been damaged. They came and picked it up at my home and brought it back fixed a few days later. They even called me to check whether I was satisfied with their service. Some months before I had a similar incident with Trip, a Brazilian domestic airline and they threw the blame on me saying that my suitcase was overloaded (it was not, but they denied their responsibility). Needless to say that the 77W is a great plane to fly in. No doubt I will book with SQ my next flight to Europe/Asia.
