The reason I switched the Aftermaths was because they were way too hot for what I was looking to do with them, regardless of the fact that they sound awesome. As per usual this is all recorded using an Axe FX Ultra. There is no bass on any of the parts

Hey everyone, I have been getting quite a lot of questions on why I use an 8 string guitar in Red Seas Fire and why Nolly doesn't, so I made this video to explain. This is an Agile Intrepid 28" in F Sharp standard with stock pickups and 9 Gauge with 52 and 74, running into Pod farm (which is software on my computer) into M-Audio BX5-A's. In this video I used Superior Drummer 2.0 and I programmed the drums in tabit then dragged them in to my DAW. I now use the Metal Foundry SDX.

This is the first song I make with an 8 string guitar, Ibanez RGA8. The guitar is all downtuned one step (EADGCFAD) it's some math metal with a lot of polymeter, not very tecnical this one, more rhytmic. The solo was an improvisation This is also the first video I make with Adobe Premier (CS4) and i had problems rendering as you can see but i kinda like this stop motion effect so I left the video like this. Peavey VK100 head + cabinet recorded with my M-audio Fasttrack Pro (USB) and Shure c606 dynamic microphone I also used a BOSS CH-1 Superchorus for all parts, and Ibanez Pan Delay dpl10 for the solo, and a BOSS BF-2 Flanger for some filling riff. This steelstring model has a baritone size, is tuned a fourth lower than a standard guitar and has octave strings for the middle two strings. Tuning is: B - E - A - a' - D - d' - f# - b. I play several typical styles that show the sound of this instrument, played with pick and in fingerstyle. The sound was recorded with two AKG C414 mics into Cubase, using an Audient MICO mic-preamp and A/D-converter.
