Don't forget to subscribe! The Nvidia 8800GT Alpha Dog edition graphics card is powerful enough for most games but the heatsink / fan seems small. The GPU was around 65 degrees celsius on idle and I found that too much. The chip reached 85 celsius during a normal game. Since I just built my pc and I installed an aftermarket cpu cooler, I didn't need the stock AMD heatsink anymore. I searched a use for it until I tought of my graphic card. The heatsink of the Nvidia is too complicated to just replace it with the AMD one. So I decided to fix the AMD fan on the Nvidia and it worked! The GPU runs much cooler now. I`ve been stuck with a shitty comp for the last 3 months now, after my 8800GT decided not to send any signal to my monitor one normal morning and i decided to get a new video card. I asked the guys over at overclokers club (www.overclockersclub.com what card i should get out of 4 200$ card. I got the GTX 460 out of most of them, but one of them said to try the oven trick on my old VC..so i did..What could happen? Make it accidentally not work? And it was out of warranty Here are the steps i follwed: 1: remove heatsink and thermal paste 2: preheat oven to 385F to 400F( NO HIGHER!) ( gas mark 6) 3: lay foil over the oven rack 4: make 4 balls of foil, about 4cm high, 5L when the oven is heated to its corrent temperature, put the graphics card on the 4 balls, one on each corner ) 6: leave for around 6-10 mins, NO MORE THAN 12 AND IT WILL MELT 7: ENJOY!!! Note: i had to remove the warranty sticker on the back of it so it wouldn`t cathc fire (didn`t want to risk it)
