AMD Athlon II x4 630 Processor Unboxing
This is the unboxing video of AMD Athlon II x4 630 Quad Core processor. This processor is AM3 processor, backward compatiable with AM2+ motherboard. I am using Asus M3N78-VM Motherboard, with 4 Gigabyte of RAM and 1TB of Western Digital Green Drive. The processor performance well on video editing, video decoding and multi-tasking. It is mid-ending Quad Core processor, without L3 cache. It is no where close to Intel Core i5 or even Core 2 Quad Q6600. This is a budget Quad Core processor for people who wanting have Quad Core experience but short with money. This is not a performce processor, nor a processor for gaming rig.

-My Computer- Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Athlon II X4 630 OC @ 3.1GHz ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO Motherboard Integrated HD4200 w/ sideport memory OC @ 795 MHz core 2x2 GB G Skill DDR3 1333 ram @ 1.65V Raidmax 530W semi-modular PSU WD Green 500GB hard drive some generic CD/DVD W/RW Raidmax Quantum Case w/ 5 case fans HP 2009m 20" LCD monitor @ 1600x900 resolution Plays Fallout 3 at max settings w/ no AA and V-sync at 30-40 fps without fraps, 10-30 fps with fraps. Plays WoW in Dalaran at max fps (60, did not unlock fps). Plays Oblivion, Rainbow 6 Las Vegas 2, Battlefield 2 Project Reality mod all on max settings no problem (no AA), Plays Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age Origins on high textures and medium detail at around 35 fps (still looks amazing, can't tell the difference between Very High and medium). Loads games faster than my Xbox 360 and loads windows 7 in 7-9 seconds. Cheap but very nice computer, at $500 it handles like a $700 computer and it doesn't even have a graphics card yet. Looks really nice, stays cool (max temp. recorded was 46 degrees Celsius.) The motherboard CD automatically updates all drivers and comes with easy overclocking programs and the Bios are not hard to navigate. The only thing that is missing is some more ram and a 5000 series ATI graphics card

Recently i've upgraded my computer with a XFX ATI HD5770 and an AMD Athlon II 630 x4 So i've made a video of Dirt 2 running at max Quality and 4x AA at 1680x1050 and DX11 game runs incredibly well on this card, and the new processor helped to record with fraps always above 30FPS. also, sorry for the crappy driving but i didn't have my steering wheel plugged in. Mafia II benchmark with Radeon 5570 1 GB + Athlon II x4
Benchmarking with Mafia II using my system. Did three separate tests with APEX PhysX off, on medium, and high settings. As for the actual demo, go out and get it, it's alot of fun to play, and looks good too across a wide range of systems. While my system here would be best left with APEX PhysX completely off, you're only losing out on effects physics, nothing that really changes the gameplay dynamics. Looks really cool though. I'm also not too sure if Nvidia graphics cards handle APEX natively or hand it off to the CPU just the same as with an ATi card. How to: Unlocking the AMD Athlon II X4 620
Using the Biostar TA790GXE 128M, I can unlock the AMD Athlon II X4 620 to enable 6MB of L3 cache on the processor. 6MB L3 cache unlocked= low frequency Phenom II + a little bit of overclock you are about to get a processor that is about one time more expensive that the Athlon IIs, the Phenom IIs.
