However its not clear how many troops Djibouti is sending to the war torn country. Speaking to NTV, the army spokesman Col. Felix Kulayije welcomed Djibouti's undertaking which becomes the second country this year to join AMISOM after Kenya. Kulayije noted that the new addition still does not meet the required 20000 soldiers.

Uganda's Chief of Defence forces, General Aronda Nyakairima is urging African governments to channel more support towards the African Union Mission in Somalia, AMISOM. Aronda made the call in Mogadishu where he supervised the official hand-over ceremony from former AMISOM Force Commander Major General Nathan Mugisha to the new Force Commander Fred Mugisha. General Nyakairima said although Amisom forces had made tremendous strides in bringing peace to Somalia , the forces still needed help.

Tibihwa was killed together with three other Ugandan soldiers by enemy fire on Saturday. The bodies of the fallen soldiers were due to arrive in the country today.
