This video is a good exemple of how realistic the gameplay of Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead can be when you play with Realism Units. In this case I joined to play with the 15th MEU Realism Unit that i tend to play with from back in the Arma Combat Operation days. This video only show half the mission. The objective was to find out weapons cache in the industrial complex. We were at least 5 mechanize fire team working together. Now my team mostly played a support role with the Humvee and as you will notice I actually didn't get much action from that mission but i think the exemplary team play largely compensate in intensity over the action of actually shooting enemies. I think this video is a good exemple of how a game can be entertaining and intense without being arcade with with explosions all around. Enjoy!

This is the first part of a series of videos I will be doing using the (still in development) Arma 2 mod DayZ, a persistent world zombie modification. If they ever get a proper website up and running I'll definitely edit it into the description of this video. Having just finished being given a quick run down of the mod and its mechanics as it currently stands by the developer, we decided to split into two main groups, with a purpose of meeting each other around the Green Mountain TV tower in central Chernarus later in the day. Subsequent episodes will not be as seemingly cut down as this one, with less "teleportation" between locales and more discussion within party members. Titling it the name of the mod, "DayZ," sounded a little lame, as it sounds like "daisy" and "Jay Z," so after pretty much ten seconds of brainstorming, I came up with "The Days Ahead." My thought process was hilariously simple, since the main developer (I think) is a New Zealander, I went with something inspired by their funny way to pronounce Z, "zed," and "The Days Ahead" was born. It also sounds pretentious so that's good! As always, there's no update schedule, just check in every now and again and you'll find new episodes mixed in with the rest of my normal stuff. When there's a good stack of them, I'll probably throw them in a YouTube playlist.

In this battle we are one week into Operation Desert Storm - the date is February 24th, 1991. United States on BLUFOR side is advancing deeply into Iraq territory. Something about arma is just so amazing. The fact that every noise you hear, every bullet you see, every man you shoot at, every aircraft that flies past, is completely real, unscripted, and dynamic. Thats why everything is just so realistic, you dont need to script a large scale war. This video just shows the pure beauty and scale of arma 2, the way the ai dynamically engages in battle, both on ground and in air. Enjoy the scenery of armas world at night time.
