With defending champion Kipchoge taking on no less than 3 Olympic Champions (Bekele:5/10K,Kiprop:1500m,Kipruto:3K Steeplechase)this race was a mouthwatering prospect! It was rather a surprise, therefore, to see Bekele and Kipchoge battling it out for 11th place!!The race was dominated by a brilliant run from the young Kenyan Asbel Kiprop ,winning in style.Middle distance fans this side of the pond will be cheered to see British hope Jonny Hay outkicking Brimin Kipruto for a fine second place.
