Abby Wambach equalizes for the USA. Usa comes back and defeats brazil in penalty kicks. Ally Krieger seals it with the last PK! the Americans packed an entire World Cup's worth of theatrics into a 15-minute span by beating Brazil 5-3 on penalty kicks after a 2-2 tie Sunday night. Abby Wambach tied it with a magnificent, leaping header in the 122nd minute, and Hope Solo denied the Brazilians -- again -- in one of the most riveting games in the history of the World Cup, men's or women's. The United States advanced to Wednesday's semifinals against France, which eliminated England on penalty kicks Saturday. And while the Americans will have to win twice more to win the final, they are the only favorites left after two-time defending champ Germany was stunned by Japan on Saturday night. The US victory came 12 years to the day the Americans last caught their country's attention in a big way with their penalty-kick shootout victory over China at the Rose Bowl that gave them their second World Cup title. This one created enough of a buzz that highlights were shown on the Jumbotron at Yankee Stadium, drawing big cheers. For Brazil, it is yet another disappointment at a major tournament. And this one is sure to sting more than any others because Marta had it won for the Brazilians, scoring her ...

Abby Wambach's legendary goal v Brazil

USA v Brazil QF game July 10, 2011. I will never forget this day.. In the 122' in the 2nd period of OT, Rapinoe makes the assist for a perfect header by Wambach. This created a draw (saving us from elimination). In the subsequent penalty shoot out: US scored all 5 pk's. This is the stuff of champions. PRESSURE MAKES US

This was one of the best games, from any sport I have ever watched. I'm a huge basketball fan, but this FIFA World Cup Soccer is a blast to watch. The referees tried to steal this game from the US Women, and wow, did the USA ever come back strong and determined. Down 11 players to 10 and with only two minutes left in the game, the USA performed heroics and pulled off the win!
