My new 2011 STi Sedan I traded my 2010 MazdaSpeed3 in for. I love it and look forward to modding it. I just recently flashed it to Stage 1 with the Cobb AccessPort I got from Boston Motorsports. They give really good discounts. 877.600.0267 and ask for Daniel. As compared to the MazdaSpeed3, the acceleration was not impressive stock from a roll. My Speed3 felt faster. From a stop it was totally different and felt MUCH faster obviously. The Stage 1 however made a HUGE improvement and I highly recommend it. The handling feels better on the STi along with the shifter. The stock stereo is horrific though and I hate having to use a key again. I'm finally working on some acceleration videos since I just got to 1000 miles. When Cobb released the Stage1+AEM map I will be adding CAI. Eventually I will do a downpipe and stage 2. Cobb Accessport monitoring RX8 MAF readings under acceleration. Going uphill 2.5% gradient, 75 degF ambient temperature, dry Arizona desert approx 1000ft above sea level. 374 g/s MAF air flow max this run, have gotten over 400 g/s if I hold off shift to rev-limit. The Pettit S/C is fast, but not that fast -- I suspect somethings up with MAF calibration.
The RX-8's MAF is very sensitive. If you use a regular air filter without setting up proper airflow like the OEM intake does, you'll end up with issues as the rough air plays havoc with the MAF readings. Here's an example of what you'll find.
This is Cobb's new Firmware they are still working on for the R35 GT-R. They just released a map to use the LC4 with VDC off for people to try out so I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. The car drives so much smoother with the LC4 program, no more jerky starts from a stop or during slow speed maneuvering. As you can see the launch control is also butter smooth, no wheel hop, no drama, just a nice smooth launch with a little wheel spin. I'm loving it. Thanks Cobb!

Complete Setup found @ dynos.evans-tuning.com This STi made 348whp and 365tq! This particular car received our stage 1 engine package due to the OEM cylinder #4 piston cracking. The cat in the Perrin downpipe had "bricked" and slowly destroyed the engine and turbo by creating massive backpressure. We decided a simple engine build, drop in turbo and larger injectors were in order to push the car past its previous 300whp/315tq mark. The combination is great and suits this 30000 mile a year daily driver well. More power/torque can be achieved if we pushed this set-up harder but in the interest of reliability for long term use we choose a more conservative route.

Got my Cobb SF Intake & Cold air box installed this week. Installation was very easy and only took about 45 minutes (with filming) Then flashed the Stage 1 + SF Intake 93 Map with my Accessport. Thanks to Cobb for making a great product. I don't have access to a dyno, but the car definitely feels like it pulls harder up top vs just the regular stage 1 with stock intake. The sound is incredible and I finally feel like my car drives like it should haha. I drove through a pretty heavy rainstorm on the east coast after installation and when I got home I took the cover off the airbox and everything was bone dry, so that is some piece of mind. I would definietely recommend the cold air box they sell, for no other reason then it keeps the MAF sensor and filter under a cover, since normally when I drive in the rain I get some water in the engine bay from the hoodscoop. I guess it's time to start saving up for a downpipe next. Hope you enjoy the video.

Dyno was done on a all wheel drive DYNOmite from HBspeed. Pull was done in 4th gear and is SAE corrected. The numbers on 91 octane pump gas to the wheels are 537HP and 570TQ.
