Between 26 October and the beginning of December 2011, test runs were carried out with an ALSTOM AGV.italo trainset on the Rhine-Rhone high-speed line, a line representing the ultimate in European railway technology and belonging to Réseau Ferré de France (RFF). These tests followed on from an earlier series conducted in Italy with this new ALSTOM transport trainset and were organised by Eurailtest: general organisation of test runs, coordination among the different partners, supply of records of the measurements conducted with respect to current collection, interference currents, acoustics, pressure waves, etc.

SMRT Alstom Metropolis C830 Music Video
The rolling stock used on the SMRT Circle Line is known as the C830. C830 is the contract number designated by the Land Transport Authority for the delivery and manufacturing of 120 train cars for the line. The contract was awarded to Alstom Transportation, a french transportation company well known for projects such as the manufacturing of the TGV Duplex High Speed Train and the C751A stock used on the North East Line. The first C830s were delivered in 2006. In contrast to the traditional six-car arrangement used on the older lines, the C830s featured a rather radical three-car consist arrangement with two driving cars at the ends of the set and a trailer in the middle. Another interesting fact about the C830s is that it is fully automated. The train requires no driver to operate the train. However, when emergencies occur, the train can be set to operate manually, which requires a train operator to operate the train. The C830s are powered via third rail and is equipped with ATC (Automatic Train Control) signaling systems. All of the C830s are maintained at Kim Chuan Depot, the world's largest underground rail maintainance facility. Here is a short music video of the C830s in action.

Test rides of the Alstom Metropolis metro train in Budapest
HU: 2012. március 1. és 17. között próbafutásokat végeztek Budapest "vadonatúj" metrójával, az Alstom Metropolis metróval a 2-es metró vonalán, mégpedig azért, hogy megkaphassák a szükséges engedélyeket a forgalomba való bocsájtásukhoz. Már korábban is végeztek próbafutásokat ezzel a metróval, de csak a metró telephelyén lévő próbapályán, így ahhoz, hogy minél előbb elvégezze ezt a 4000 km-es próbát, kivitték a metró vonalára a járművet. Ezekről a mozzanatokról láthattok egy videó-összeállítást. :-) EN: From 1 to 17 March 2012, Budapest 'newest' metro train called Alstom Metropolis Budapest was tested on Metro Line 2 in order to get the licence to be in service. Previously, there had been a lot of test rides with this train, but it had been managed on the test track near the metro line's depot, so in order to manage this 4000 km-long test ride, the train was going on the whole metro line. And you can see this movements in this video. :-)
