Drive-by Truckers - My Sweet Annette

Song from the album Decoration Day Lyrics: Me and my Annette, we was as fond as we could be We was set to marry in October 33 I set my sights on courtin her, as fine as she could be I never ever noticed her best friend Marilee Took a job at the saw mill and I bought my girl a ring, Had a pre-wedding party, close friends and family Everything was fine, eatin homemade ice cream I swear I never noticed maid of honor, Marilee My Sweet Annette was left standing at the alter.(2x) Marilee was taken ill, it was several miles from home Back then it wasnt fittin for a girl to leave alone Sweet Annette, she asked me to walk her to the door As innocent as children back before the war My Sweet Annette was left standing at the alter. (2x) Lord have mercy for what we done, Lord have mercy when to people get alone Neither one of us had done anything like that you see By the next sunset, I had eloped with Marilee. (3x) My Sweet Annette was left standing at the alter.

Annette Hanshaw - Lover Come Back To Me (1929)

Annette Hanshaw (oct.18.1901 - mar.13.1985) was one of the first great female jazz singers. In the late 1920s she ranked alongside Ethel Waters, Bessie Smith and the Boswell Sisters. Her singing style was relaxed and suited the new jazz-influenced pop music of the late 1920s. Although she had a low opinion of her own singing, she continues to have fans because of how she combined the voice of an ingenue with the spirit of a flapper. ---------------------------------------------------- Eddie Lang (okt.25,1902 - mar.26,1933) He was the first Jazz guitar virtuoso. A boyhood friend of Joe Venuti, Lang took violin lessons for 11 years but switched to guitar before he turned professional in 1924 with the Mound City Blue Blowers. He was soon in great demand for recording dates, both in the jazz world and in pop settings. His sophisticated European sounding chord patterns made him a unique accompanist, but he was also a fine soloist. from "The New Moon" Annette Hanshaw - Lover Come Back To Me 3-15-1929 Columbia 1769-D

Annette Hanshaw - Under The Moon (1932)

Annette Hanshaw was a popular singer and radio star of the 1920s and early Thirties who had many Jazz overtones in her singing style. She stepped out of her role of a torch singer and improvised and had a great deal of swing that harkened to the Big Band singers of the 1930s. She was viewed by the public as the epitome of a flapper. Many of her early records feature many of the hot White players of the day like Red Nichols, Miff Mole, Phil Napoleon, Joe Venuti, Eddie Lang, Adrian Rollini, Vic Berton, Benny Goodman, Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey and Jack Teagarden. Hanshaw was billed as "The Personality Girl," and her trademark was girlishly saying "That's all" at the end of a lot of her records. Hanshaw recorded under a number of pseudonyms which included Ethel Bingham, Dot Dare, Gay Ellis, Marion Lee, Janet Shaw, Lelia Sandford and Patsy Young. Annette never thought much of her abilities as a singer and retired from showbiz in 1935. Joe Venuti was born on a ship on the way to the USA from Italy and became, in many circles, THE great jazz violinist. Eddie Lang (who was also known as Blind Willie Dunn) was a boyhood friend of Venuti, and was the first great jazz guitarist. Lang died in 1933 as the result of a botched tonsillectomy, which operation had been taken at the urging of his friend, Bing Crosby. Eddie Lang (October 25, 1902 - March 26, 1933) was an American jazz guitarist, considered by many[citation needed] to be the finest of his era, and to be the greatest rhythm ...

Annette Hanshaw - Daddy Won't You Please Come Home [Bioshock 2 Trailer]

Song from the Bioshock 2 Trailer performed by Mrs. Annette Hanshaw. Wonderful choice if you ask me. Sorry that I put it up only jet but it has taken a while to find the song. Lyrics: When night is creepin' And I should be sleepin' in bed If you were peepin' You'd find that I'm weepin' instead My lovin' daddy left his baby again Said he'd come back but he forgot to say when Night after night, I'm cryin' Daddy, won't you please come home? Daddy won't you please come home? I'm so lonesome No one can fill that vacant chair Home isn't home when you're not there No need to knock, the door is open for you Please, daddy Even the clock keeps tickin' Daddy won't you please come home? Daddy do you have to roam so very long? There's lots of other new sheiks who would like to be sheikin' Haven't slipped yet, but I'm liable to weaken Daddy, daddy, won't you please come home? Please, daddy Even the clock keeps tickin' Daddy won't you please come home? Daddy do you have to roam so very long? There's lots of other new sheiks who would like to be sheikin' Haven't slipped yet, but I'm liable to weaken Daddy, daddy, won't you please come home? That's all

I am an Animal Rescuer BY ANNETTE KING TUCKER♥

**i do NOT own this poem/quote or song but i do own the video clips!** ♥Amazing poem/quote by Annette King Tucker!! Is this lady brilliant or what?! All words belong to her in this video! I only own the video clips! and the song is called Shattered by Trading Yesterday. I took the video clips from the animal rescue I volunteer at; the Sadie Mae Foundation. It's Manchester, CT. Feel free to apply to adopt if you have a good heart and if you live in the New England area. sadiemaefoundation.org Just an FYI, all the animals in this video have been adopted. Yay!(: There are many more that need homes and if you can't find a good match at the Sadie Mae Foundation, look around for another rescue in your area at petfinder. Or the pound, humane society, or some other shelter. Anything that has to do with rescue and NOT buying from a breeder or **especially** pet store. D: the horror of those places!! The woman who wrote this poem has a rescue of her own, called Wild Heart Ranch. Check it out.. www.wildheartranch.org ANIMAL RESCUE IS MY LIFE. Now you know exactly who i am ♥ For all animal rescuers ♥ We love what we do!!! There can never be too many animal rescuers in the world--so please, if you want, volunteer at a local animal shelter!!! Become as involved as you possibly can. You will love the feeling of watching the animals get adopted as the years go by ♥ www.sadiemaefoundation.org ehh typo at 2:50 i put "the" twice...just ignore it...sorry about that.. The Beach Boys, with front-girl "Annette", perform under the title credits to a chunk of mid-1960's teenage movie flotsam. This is the 1965 movie The Monkey's Uncle which was a sequel to 1964's The Misadventures of Merlin Jones. Same cast. Each film was actually two 45 minutes episodes (with separate plots) originally intended to air on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color tv program as a 4-part series. They were released to theaters instead to take advantage of Annette's popularity in films. The Beach Boys opening was added for this purpose
