This is the Extended Version of the Mens Basketball game at the Northridge Matadome. The game was UC Irvine vs Cal State Northridge. CSUN and UCI were going back and forth with the score at the beginning, but overall CSUN maintained a steady lead throughout the game. The game got pretty close a few times during the second half, but overall CSUN walked away with a 91-83 win over UCI. UCi's leading scorers were Darren Moore with 20 points, and Patrick Rembert with 14 points. CSUN's leading scorers were Lenny Daniel with 22 points, and Rashaun McLemore with 18 points. Game Summary California High School Basketball - Loyola thwarted by Leuzinger (February 26, 2010: Lawndale, CA 90260) The Loyola Cubs basketball team (Los Angeles, CA), was toppled 72-59 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Leuzinger Olympians (Lawndale, CA) The Olympians now possess a 23-7 record. They play next when they travel to Santa Monica for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 6. Leuzinger will battle a Vikings team coming off a 70-53 non-league win over Colony (Ontario, CA). The Vikings record now stands at 25-6. The Cubs (26-3) will now prepare for their battle against Taft (Woodland Hills, CA). The Toreadors come into the non-league battle with a 24-5 record. In their last battle, Taft was toppled by Westchester (Los Angeles, CA), 70-60, in a non-league battle.

The game was going back and forth until the last few minutes when CSUN almost came back with a comeback to win the game, but due to foul trouble for CSUN and UCR hitting their major freethrows, they maintained their lead and won the game 73-70. Kwame Vaughn made a driving layup from the left side with 3 seconds to play to give Cal State Fullerton a 70-68 Big West Conference victory Thursday night at Cal State Northridge. The win was the third in a row for the Titans (13-6, 5-2), who got 20 points from DJ Seeley and a total of 15 from Vaughn. The Matadors (5-13, 2-6) got 18 points and 10 rebounds from Stephan Hicks but lost their third in a row. Vaughn's drive came after Stephen Maxwell missed a short shot out of an inbounds play by CSUN. Aqeel Quinn had tied the game at 68 with two free throws with 1:15 to play. Vaughn missed a 3-point try on the next to last Fullerton possession but the game-winning play was set up in a timeout with 15 seconds left. "I was having a tough night," said Vaughn, who won a game at Univ. of San Francisco with free throws but never with a field goal. "I saw an opening and thought I could get to the rack." "We ran a ball screen for Kwame and told him to just play and don't worry about it," said Coach Bob Burton, who is now 8-1 in The Matadome. "It was a great game for us. What won it for us was defense down the stretch. We got two or three stops to come back." CSUN had used a 15-0 run to turn Fullerton's 61-51 lead at 8:50 into a 66-61 Matador advantage with 4:42 to play. Omondi Amoke had 14 points and Isiah Umipig added 11 for Fullerton. This is the first game on Thursday, March 10, 2011 between #3 Cal State Northridge and #6 Cal State Fullerton at the Big West Tournament Quarterfinals. Last year these two teams met in the first round of the playoffs and that when the infamous dunk that Gerard Anderson had immediately had close to 2 million views on youtube in a little over a week. Both teams came out with a fresh start and the last time these two teams met, CSUN was down by 14 at half time and came back to barely win the game with seconds left on the clock. The outcome of this game could have gone either way, but once the game started going, it was clear to see that Northridge was going to take this win. The final score of the game was CSUN 75 CSUF 54. These are the Short highlights from the Mens Basketball game at the Matadome against UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge. The last time these two teams met, it was one of the closest games all season long, resulting in a 1 point victory for CSUN over UCSB. This game started out with UCSB with the lead. They were up by 9 points at half time. CSUN came back in the second half and the game went down to the wire - between freethrows for CSUN and turnovers for UCSB, CSUN pulled the victory at the end.
