Aquaria is a 2D sidescrolling action-adventure computer game designed by Alec Holowka and Derek Yu, who together form the independent game company Bit Blot, which developed and originally published the game. After more than two years of development, the game was released in 2007 for Windows. A Macintosh port was released in 2008, courtesy of Ambrosia Software, and an updated version of the game was released on Steam that same year. A Linux version of the game was released as part of the Humble Indie Bundle collection in 2010. In 2009, the Aquaria soundtrack album was made available for sale. Mermaid footage is difficult to find, but I think I showcased the best available from such sources as Splash, H20: Just Add Water, the Aquaman Pilot, and several mermaid models. Her music is often classified as New Age music. She is the ex-wife of David Arkenstone who is also a composer and musician. Arkenstone's work has recently been getting significant airplay on satellite radio, particularly on channels devoted to New Age music. New age sensation Diane Arkenstone came from a varied musical background before focusing her career on Celtic music in the 1990s. Trained as an opera singer, Arkenstone experimented with punk, heavy metal, and folk music until she co-formed the duo Enaid Einalem with a musician friend named Melanie. While with the duo, she married like-minded musician David Arkenstone and formed the label Neo Pacifica with him. -= Aquaria Boss Battles =- The content of this video is from the first game from Bit-Blot studios, Aquaria. Here we see an optional boss, Octopus Prime. If you're stuck and need tips, this is the video for you. If you're thinking about getting Aquaria and want to see what it's like, this video is NOT for you. Octopus Prime is BORING. Go download the demo, you'll like it better. - The Strategy - First, get to the spot shown in the video. From here none of Prime's attacks can harm you. From here, wait until it is safe to attack and boost from the spot on the ceiling to the spot on the ground, as shown. Proceed to attack it's weak point, the tongue. You will likely only get in 1-3 hits before she attempts to grab you with her tentacle. This is your queue to boost out of range, as shown. If she spawns a squid simply stay in the "safe spot" and bombard it with energy form shots. Occasionally Prime will spew ink and cause the cave to be veiled in darkness. This is where Sun Form is needed. Simply stay in the "safe spot" and charge a sun blast to light the room. Repeat this process and Prime should go down without a hitch. NOTE: If you have any +Energy Form Shot foods available then use them. However, since you only get a shot at the tongue occasionally, don't use too many items. You can see this boss can be beaten with ZERO health lost, +Power foods are only to be used for the sake of time.

Used Royal soup items for the +2 speed. The race timer does not count down in the pause menu or in spirit form.

Aquaria - Wacom Pen Tablet setup
This video shows the difference between "mouse mode" and "pen mode" settings when using a Wacom pen tablet to play Bit Blot's Aquaria. (this should work for other tablets too) Aquaria is played with a basic two-button mouse, so you need to change to "mouse mode/mapping" in your tablet setup and preferences.
