KILLING TREES-CUTTING DOWN HEALTHY TREES IS ARBORCIDE!

I woke up this morning sick to my stomach. My neighbor hired a landscaping crew to cut down 3 large healthy trees. They were beautiful and healthy. They added lots of shade and character to the block. As you can see in the video my cat is even pissed off, lol! The crew that was working didn't speak any English and were handling this very dangerously. They had on no safety equipment and it was a miracle nobody was hurt or any property was damaged. When they were done, 3 gorgeous trees were gone and many squirrels and birds were now homeless. What many people don't realize is that trees benefit them. When you cut trees down here is what happens: Cutting down trees can cause soil erosion. Soil erosion happens when there is rainfall and since there is no tree roots to take in the water, it washes away the soil causing runoff's which can turn into flash floods. Soil erosion can cause trouble for it would be hard to grow plants in that same area. Trees are also homes to animals, some of them endangered. When you take away their homes there are forced to find new ones and sometimes end up coming in contact with in a human residence. This is could be a threat to humans (if the animal is dangerous) and a threat to the animal itself. Trees also take in c02 (also called carbon sink). Cutting down trees means there is more carbon dioxide in the air. www.nytimes.com
