Some footage of me playing one evening of tdm trying out the L96 sniper rifle. Map: Noshahr Canals. The scope of course is the Holo, I've tried the Kobra but for some reason i kept missing alot with that one eventhough its my first choice in general. Something weird though, is that the bullets tend to go a bit above where you aim with this rifle. I dont know if this is the case with all sniper rifles or just the L96 but it was very offputting when i first started playing with it, something to get used to i guess. Lets talk about the Recon kit in Battlefield 3. Is it useless, or overpowered? I don't believe the Recon kit is overpowered, in fact I think it's balanced perfectly with the items you get, and the weapons you unlock. The bolt actions in the BETA are sometimes a 1 shot body shot kill, sometimes 2-3. The BETA is too buggy to tell, and they could be tweaked for full release. Keep in mind, there are MANY all-kit weapons that make the Recon kit even more useful. The radio beacon mobile spawnpoint gadget is also VERY handy for the recon kit. What do you guys think? It may be called the Recon class, but the type of weapon of choice for this class is a sniper rifle. Doing good sniping takes practice because you need to take into consideration several factors before trying to kill a guy from over 300 meters away with one bullet. 1. You need a clear line of sight. Any obstructions can make it difficult to get a good shot at a target. 2. You need to compensate for bullet drop. Raise your reticule too much and you'll miss his head, don't raise it enough, and you'll hit the ground near him. It takes good practice to judge just how much you're supposed to raise your reticule to get a clean headshot. 3. Staying out of the reticule of other snipers. NEVER just stand on a rock to try to snipe. That's basically telling everybody to shoot at you since you're an easy, unsuspecting target. Always crouch and go prone if you can find a concealed enough position, although I prefer crouching because while prone, it takes a few seconds to stand up and run away if someone's shooting at you and while you're crouched, that's not an issue. Practice makes perfect, so while you won't be great at sniping at first, you will improve if you stick with it. -Reconnaissance. Recon is short for Reconnaissance, which means scouting the terrain ahead. You can use a sniper rifle to scout an area, you just need a CQC sight, like an ACOG or Holo <b>...</b>

So I've been getting the swing of Battlefield 3. Starting to finish a lot of game in 1st place, not that it means I'm MLG pro but I defenitely feel more comfortable with the feel of the game. In this video I talk about the SVD and why its a pwning machine and Also the M249 or SAW and how the support class is much different than in BFBC2. Also I briefly go over the T-UGS (Tactical Unatended Ground Sensor) which is basically the replacement for the motion senor ball in BFBC2.

Jumped into a game playing Conquest on Tehran Highway and had a lovely little attack. Unfortunately we were already losing the game badly due to one team-mate running straight at the enemy while the other cowered in the base trying to snipe people, hence my death from behind, but it was still fun. The main point is that I ignored Recon for a long time. I couldn't see how the class helped at all, but the snipers available can, when used correctly, work really effectively and together with the T-UGS for spotting enemies and the Spawn Beacon you really can be a huge asset to your team!

First I want to say that I've taken the time to bust out 32 ranks on the beta and I've done 99% of it with the recon class/kit, so if you have any question at all on the unlocks, guns, etc.. As for this "BETA", It is not to be mistaken as the finish product! What can be taken from this "BETA" are greatly enhanced controls/mobility from the "Bad Company" series with the addition of the return of the ability to prone without that instant belly-flop drop motion. There is also a bunch of new ways to customize and personalize your class/kit to better fit your play-style and your teams needs. As well as better hit registry, cleaner maps, weapon balancing so everything is viable and so much more! So if you have yet to download your free beta, you should definitely get right on that whether it be for PS3/360/PC and get a feel for it! Alo elo people this is a little rant about the unbalanced class the recon, they don't have any form of explosives to take out the most notorious part of battlefield, VEHICLES. They only get to support the OTHER 3 classes to do so. Of course you can sniper pilots but its fairly rair, almost as rare as killing a helo with an M320. I feel the support is way overpowered in terms of equipment, allowing the ammo kit alongside C4s and claymores. They also get the mortars this time round. It just doesn't make sense to me and I'm really confused with DICE decision. I wish I could personally talk to them about this game, because I feel I have some usefull ideas that could improve the game. But of course its turning into a buisniss and at that point, they don't care. Or in any case EA controls them now...

Sniping Reconnaissance Using the right weapon Gadgets Weapon setups -Sniping. It may be called the Recon class, but the type of weapon of choice for this class is a sniper rifle. Doing good sniping takes practice because you need to take into consideration several factors before trying to kill a guy from over 300 meters away with one bullet. 1. You need a clear line of sight. Any obstructions can make it difficult to get a good shot at a target. 2. You need to compensate for bullet drop. Raise your reticule too much and you'll miss his head, don't raise it enough, and you'll hit the ground near him. It takes good practice to judge just how much you're supposed to raise your reticule to get a clean headshot. 3. Staying out of the reticule of other snipers. NEVER just stand on a rock to try to snipe. That's basically telling everybody to shoot at you since you're an easy, unsuspecting target. Always crouch and go prone if you can find a concealed enough position, although I prefer crouching because while prone, it takes a few seconds to stand up and run away if someone's shooting at you and while you're crouched, that's not an issue.
