Fred Baty - "Anachronism" (Crepusculum)

This one is the last track on my Sky Diaries EP, called 'Anachronism'. The guitar's tuned CADGCE, and I'm really happy with the song as a whole and with the video. I hope you enjoy it.

Fred Baty - "Momentum" (Crepusculum)

A video of myself playing my latest song, 'Momentum'. Sorry for the occasional cracks in the audio, I don't know what causes that but it happens whenever I try and use my webcam at the moment. They're not too frequent, fortunately. The song is for two guitars (in DADGBbD) and I overdubbed the second guitar part in Windows Movie Maker. As requested, here's a Powertab: www.mediafire.com

Fred Baty - "Sepia Skylines" (Crepusculum)

The last one for tonight. This is my latest (and most unnecessarily ambitious) song, called 'Sepia Skylines'. I'm pretty happy with it as a song, but unfortunately I overestimated my technical abilities somewhat, so every recording I have yet made of it is slightly iffy. This video isn't bad, but there are places where it could be better. Ah well, I hope you enjoy it. It's cheesy, but I like it.

Fred Baty - "Open Gates" (Crepusculum)

Well, I basically describe what the video is before I start playing the song, but essentially it is a spot of cheap publicity for my 'Sky Diaries' EP, which is up for free download here: www.12rec.net The piece I'm playing is called Open Gates, which is on the EP and which I had a rough version of on here before. This one has the full instrumentation, and I am dotting between the three guitar parts. I hope you like it and the EP in general! I feel a disclaimer is somewhat necessary after this much self-publicity though, haha. Please don't feel I'm asking you to buy it - I make no money off this, and nor do Simon and Sven, so it is of little importance to me whether you buy it or download it for free. I am just happy if you listen to it and let me know of any feedback you might have. Many thanks to all. EDIT: As a few people have asked about it, here's a link to all of the tabs for my songs: www.ptuca.net

My latest song. I'm very happy with it at the moment - it's by far the simplest song I've written in a while and I'm starting to think my simple pieces are my best ones! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. For those who are interested there's a tab here: www.ptuca.net

My first original tune in a fairly long time, hope you enjoy! This song is available to listen to or download from my BandCamp, at fredbaty.bandcamp.com. Downloads in any format are 50p if you feel like making a donation. Otherwise, it's also available to listen to or download for free from my SoundCloud, at http As with everything I've released prior to this, you are more than welcome to download it for free. I just thought it was worth giving the paid option as well - feel no obligation! There is a tab for the full bassline here: www.mediafire.com (parts were done from memory, so apologies if there's a few structural mistakes, but I'm fairly sure that the notes are all correct!)

This is a song from my forthcoming album "Sing On In Silhouettes", which should be released on 12rec in the not too distant future. The whole album's dedicated to one of my best mates' sister, who died of meningitis in December 2007, and this is the song I wrote specifically for her. www.hannahkatieking.com EDIT: Here's a tab, for those interested. Probably best to watch this one in HD - I don't actually have an HD camera, but you can barely see anything otherwise! This is a really old tune from my first EP that I've been working on so I can play it live, and I figured it'd be fun to try and do a video of all three guitar parts. Some sloppiness here and there, including one mammoth screw-up, but other than that I'm pretty happy with how it came out!

Fred Baty - "Wake Me With Whispers" (Crepusculum)

This is an old tune of mine, released on "Sing On In Silhouettes". It was originally written on a 7-string, so I had to change it slightly to be played without a low B, but am pretty happy with how it came out. I recently decided to fully block the trem on my Nightswan with some nice pieces of mahogany, and haven't been able to put it down since. I'd forgotten quite how great this guitar is! Hope you enjoy it. If you'd like a free download of the original version or the rest of my album, it's up at either of these links: www.archive.org sonicsquirrel.net I can also provide a FLAC link if anyone so desires, just let me know! Fred Baty - "A Sheltered Life" (Crepusculum)

Well, I figured it's been a pretty long time since I last uploaded a video, and seeing as I've just sorted out how to record proper videos with backing tracks, I figured I'd go all out and upload 3 new videos. This one is a recording of the first track of my Sky Diaries EP, which is called 'A Sheltered Life'. It's in standard tuning, and I'm pretty happy with the video aside from the blaring mistake towards the end, haha. I hope you enjoy it.

Cover of "Rylynn" by Andy McKee - Fred Baty

This has been by far and away my favourite Andy McKee tune since I first heard it a few years back, and I've been wanting to cover it for about as long. I've only recently felt that I've improved enough to actually do it some kind of justice, but I'll be the first to admit it's not *quite* there yet! Anyway, I'm reasonably happy with this, apart from the way that everyone in my corridor at university started slamming their doors left right and centre the second I got to the really tricky part at the end, haha. All the noises threw me off somewhat, hence the bit where I momentarily forget what was supposed to come next! Ah well, could be worse... EDIT: Forgot to say, this is also the first video where I tried recording the video on my digital camera, which is a Sony H20. Definitely going to be doing this from now on - much, much better quality than the webcam I was using before!

Fred Baty - "We All Start Again, Every Now And Then" (Crepusculum)

I wrote this over the past couple of days, and decided it would be a good idea to try and record a video of it tonight, despite it still being rather uncomfortably new. It didn't actually turn out too badly at all, but you will have to excuse the blissful gurning. The songs for two acoustic guitars in CADGCE, two violins and a cello. I'm holding off on the MP3 until I can record it with proper strings instead of MIDI ones, but here's a video in the meantime. I hope you like it. I'm really happy with it at the moment.

Fred Baty - New Riff Demo

This is a very rough demo of a riff I wrote yesterday for a project that I've been working on with Alex Wilson (from Sleepmakeswaves). We're in the process of writing an album which I hope to finish at some point next year, and I figured I should upload a quick video partly to affirm that I'm still around, and partly as a teaser for this (as yet untitled) project. As I said, this is merely a rough demo, so please excuse the dodgy mix and some inexplicable face-pulling at the end of the video. Not quite sure where that came from. I believe that this is also the maiden voyage of my new Kramer Striker 100ST (right-hand guitar) into the YouTube world. For a 20-something year-old piece of plywood played through a POD, I'm pretty stoked with how it sounds! Hope you enjoy the video, -F.
