Police say the man killed in the shootout at the Pentagon, John Patrick Bedell, had been acting erratically, and his family feared he had a gun. The Bedell family put out a statement Friday saying they were 'devastated as a family by the news.' (March 5)

If only it was just a few minutes sooner to meet SOO 6061 West. CP 112 with AC4400CW 9657 upfront and CEFX 1052 in DPU at the end of the train. Looks like a long snake passing over the gentle grades of the Winchester Subdivision. The CEFX unit was a nice surprise to see instead of the usual CP units used on the tail end. With the majority of Soo Line SD60's going east to CAD Rail in Montreal for rebuilding, it's been getting more and more difficult to find solid sets of Soo Line power on CP. Little did I know that a train with SOO Line power was heading my way. To get one SOO Line SD60 on a train is good. To get one SD60 & a SD60M on one train is even more rare. A westbound freight came around the curve, led by SOO Line SD60M 6061 & recently rebuilt CP 6240. (Ex-SOO 6040) Passing through the former junction at Bedell ON. Headed for Smiths Falls. The 6240 has already gone through a major rebuild. The 6061 is a candidate for rebuilding. Her faded candy apple red with SOO speed lettering. She's showing off her colors one more time before being called back to Montreal and sent to CAD Rail. (To be rebuilt as CP 6261) So SOO me if you please CP.
