Libyan Fighters Return to Benghazi

Libyans turned out in droves to welcome the fighters returning to their hometown of Benghazi after capturing Sirte, the last stronghold of former leader Muammar Qaddafi. Women and children waved flags and sang songs while men shook the hands of the fighters who walked the streets amidst the sounds of beating drums. The capture and killing of Qaddafi was celebrated across the country as Libyans look forward to beginning a new phase in the rebuilding of their country. Mahmoud Jibril, Libya's interim prime minister who resigned on Saturday, called on new leaders to take advantage of the moment and nip brewing rivalries in the bud. Meanwhile in Misrata, a public space has been dedicated to the statues found in Qaddafi's Bab al-Aziziya compound, displayed as trophies of war. One resident said such space conveyed the struggles and triumphs the rebel fighters achieved in toppling Qaddafi and his regime. Another resident said the statues symbolized the defeat of Qaddafi's reign. Qaddafi was killed on October 20th in Sirte, after being captured by the rebel fighters. While disputes have emerged over Qaddafi's yet-to-be-buried body, it remains on display for residents to see. The NTC said on Sunday that it would hand over Qaddafi's body to his extended family after discussing with them a location for his burial. By Noora Faraj Al Arabiya with Agencies

Rebel Militias Include the Human Traffickers of Benghazi

Thomas C Mountain relates the importance of Benghazi as having been the epicentre of the once Billion dollar a year industry of Trafficking Africans to Europe. These people have formed part of the Rebel militias, here is an excerpt of a post by Thomas: "The revolt started in Benghazi in eastern Libya. A very important point not mentioned anywhere in the international media is the fact that due to geographic location, being one of the closest point to Europe from the African continent, Benghazi has over the past 15 years or so become the epicenter of African migration to Europe. At one point over a thousand African migrants a day were pouring into Libya in hopes of arranging transport to Europe. The human trafficking industry, one of the most evil, inhumane businesses on the planet, grew into a billion dollar a year industry in Benghazi. A large, viscous underworld mafia set down deep roots in Benghazi, employing thousands in various capacities and corrupting Libyan police and government officials. It has only been in the past year or so that the Libyan government, with help from Italy, has finally brought this cancer under control. With their livelihood destroyed and many of their leaders in prison, the human trafficking mafia have been at the forefront in funding and supporting the Libyan rebellion. Many of the human trafficking gangs and other lumpen elements in Benghazi are known for racist pogroms against African guest workers where over the past decade they regularly ...
Protests in Benghazi against Ghoga and Power Hungry Libyans (Presstv, Sept 21, 2011)

Taken from www.presstv.ir In this video a libyan says: "There's a joke here in Libya: we don't have enough ladders in the market, cause everyone wants one to take power in the country" In the report by Jihan Hafiz we hear something that I find rather contradictory: first she says that the people in Benghazi don't want any former Jamahiriya people in the NTC, but on the other hand they would still cheer for Mustafa Abdel 'NATO' Jalil and Mahmoud 'Virginia' Jibril who were very close to Gaddafi. also read a story from september 10 on demonstrations that took place in Benghazi back then at www.news24.com
Family Time in Benghazi

english.alarabiya.net Family reunions and casual get-togethers play an important role in modern day society -- people almost take them for granted. Unfortunately, the growing conflict in Libya has rendered such events as luxury for many citizens of Benghazi. Mr. Arnes, a Benghazi-based driver had finished his work early on a Friday, in order to spend the cherished weekends with his family. When business was going well, he would drive between Tripoli and Benghazi every week. But ever since the conflict erupted, both the number of customers and his income plunged to their lowest levels -- making Mr. Arnes's income unstable, and the future of his 14 children uncertain. In days prior to the conflict, women, old and young, used to cook every weekend for the family. Now, the scheduled reunion is looked upon as a rare treat. Besides taking its toll on families, the Libyan conflict has also led to food and energy shortages in the city of Benghazi. All food is now imported from neighboring Egypt, and the prices of daily necessities such as eggs, tomatoes and beef have doubled. Mr. Arnes's sister Eamon was particularly struck by this, as she has to support her newborn child -- a baby boy named Mohammed.

Benghazi Libya : Qatar troops & Rebels kill 120 unarmed, Al Qaeda style

After Younis, the Rebel Military Leader was assassinated, Libya tribes rallied around him by showing support for Gaddafi. their members in the rebel side abandoned their front line positions and went into Benghazi to seek revenge. The rebel command is reported to have abandoned Benghazi, and fighting erupt. While MSM falsify reports "non-existent rebel gains,Tripoli may fall, the country may collapse, Gaddafi has little support " when, in fact, mass rallies turn out in Tripoli and elsewhere for him. "few civilians have been killed or injured when by NATO air strikes" while in fact, around 1500 or more have been killed, many thousands more injured, "NATO only attacks military targets" when, in fact, civilian ones are deliberately struck; and Infrastructure & TV broadcast, "Tripoli is a ghost town" when, in fact, life goes on relatively normally in spite of daily bombings. falsified reports suppress reality on the ground, including that NATO miscalculated. As a result, it's losing because Libyans are united against lawless, naked aggression, refusing to let their country become no man land for Al Qaeda & modern warfare warfare experiments. They know well there is no "humanitarian" in NATO mission :militarize and balkanize their country, control its resources, steal its wealth, and exploit its people ruthlessly.
