This is my Sony HFR-70 Betamax with HFP-100 optional HiFi Processor, doing a demo of its stunning recording capabilities in BIIs, the source is an Xbox 360 HD-DVD Player, and believe it or not there is no noticeable loss when recording right from the RCA's into the beta. Good for xbox live content. The TV is a 46" westinghouse, video was shot with Nikon D90. VCR is over 20 years old and still performs flawlessly. This player features special adjustments for slow motion tracking (which also enhance normal playback) and still tracking, to create a very liquid experience throughout the various tape transport modes. Also Betascan allows for a quick preview where you are when you are rewinding or fast-forwarding a tape outside of playback mode. The optional audio processor features an MPX filter, giant line level meters, and adjustable individual left and right record level sliders. This VCR is nearly a dream machine.

Super Betamax VCR
Got an oldie but goodie. It's a Betamax VCR, a Super model, and a very high end model at that. It's PQ is amazingly clean when playing. Even though it's digital still stored pictures are 240 scanlines visible, it's clear too due to built in upscaler to 480i output. And this player was built in the late 80's. Oh, the digital "effects" are useful if you hook this up to another recording deck for say, a recording if you make one. For example, you could record a conference, and use the picture in picture hooked up to a camera, and add sign language in the corner of the screen, and record that to a tape to give out.

Due to lenght I had to cut the video file in two parts hope. I hope you will enjoy this little piece of belgian aviation history. The Red Devils was the belgian airforce national stuntteam. There stationed at Brustem airbase (sint-truiden). The pilots and mechanics were all volunteers and did the training and maintenance after their hours. The fouga's were used daily by students and instructors of the 9nd wing training. Even with limited resources the Red Devils became one of the best stunt teams in the world. But because of high costs the team was put off.

Vintage Betamax VCR
I Picked this betamax VCR from the trash and took it home fixed it up and recorded Perfect Strangers onto a beta tape. It is approperate to put that show onto beta. The VCR is connected to my 2008 Insignia 15" LCD TV! How lucky to get a betamax VCR in good condition.

Sony BMC-550 Betamax Camcorder from 1984
Here is a closer look at my recently-acquired Sony BMC-550 Betamovie camcorder that I got from my grandfather. It was sitting in his closet buried under piles of clothes! See the video about 3 vintage camcorders for the story. Basically, it did not work, I took it apart, it cracked, I put it back together, it cracked some more, and then it recorded! The battery is no good and only lasts a minute or so before losing so much voltage that the camcorder shuts down. I will likely do a modification like I did with my VHS RCA camcorder to use an external battery with a plug-in DC connector.
