Polterabend
This is a little video from a German wedding party we went to. The party is called Polterabend. It happens a day or two before the church wedding and At the beginning of the party you bring porcelain from home to crash on the ground. This brings luck to the couple's marriage. The word 'poltern' means to make a racket and 'abend' means evening. Then the couple must clean up the pile of shards together symbolizing that they will have to work together through difficulties in their lives. My neighbor Lara and I just thought it wad especially fun to break dishes.
