A vocal and acoustic cover of Black Gives Way To Blue by Alice in Chains, off of their new album by the same title. This is my first ever video recording upload, and I hope its not the last. I had a fun time practicing and executing this song. When I first heard it off of their new album, it sent chills down my spine unlike anything I had ever heard before. The short, 3 minute eulogy, written by Jerry Cantrell for the late Layne Staley (RIP the best vocalist to ever live!), expressed in musical and lyrical format the same exact feeling that I had felt when I lost someone in my life who was crucial to my very being. For this, I dedicate this cover to my late Uncle. I also recorded this in high hopes that they play this song when they come to Portland during the BDS tour. I saw them in February at the Salem Armory during their BGWTB tour but they did not play this song (the setlist without was still out of this world). So, hopes that they will ^.^ I recorded this for the AltPress BlackDiamondSkye "Emulate BlackDiamondSkye" contest, and I am really excited to see some of the other recordings others have done. I will likely end up purchasing tickets to the show whether I win or not, but it sure would be nice to have some VIP tickets :D And that guitar too, that would be something I would keep for the rest of my lifetime, that's for damn sure. I have the "Black Gives Way To Blue Piano Mix" in the background, and I noticed that since it does not have Jerry's solo guitar from <b>...</b>
