Nine pound Hammer from wikipedia ; D Nine Pound Hammer is an American cowpunk band formed in 1985 by vocalist Scott Luallen and guitarist Blaine Cartwright (later of Nashville Pussy) in their hometown of Owensboro, Kentucky. Though not recorded until 1988, the band were one of the initial wave of acts to combine the roots sound of country music with punk rock, and became a foreruner to subsequent roots-punk artists. Nine Pound Hammer first played at The Ross Theater, opening for the Xtian rap group, The Disciples Of Decadence, in nearby Evansville, Indiana, with drummer Toby Myrig, David Epperson, and bassist Brian (Forrest) Payne, in 1984. David and Brian left, and Bart Altman, thunderstick man from The Disciples Of Decadence, joined on bass. This lineup played locally in Owensboro, Kentucky and Evansville Indiana, garnering a very loyal following before relocating to Lexington, Kentucky as the Raw Recruits. The band then changed their name to The Black Sheep and became the house band at Great Scott's Depot. Darren Howard replaced Toby, and the band became Nine Pound Hammer again. The name of the band is taken from the Merle Travis song Nine Pound Hammer. Brian Moore (Active Ingredients) and Rob Hulsman (Tarbox Ramblers) joined on bass and drums in 1988, just before recording the band's first LP, The Mud, The Blood, and The Beers. Disney's Return to Oz 25th Anniversary Fan Trailer
A Special Fan Trailer for the 25th Anniversary of Disney's "Return to Oz", a video that took over a year in the making! SUPREME THANKS go to Tim Hocking and Jared Davis for sending me the video and audio when I couldn't get them. THANK YOU!! (My FIRST video upload of a different Return to Oz video wasn't working out, so I went with this one) I wanted to make a trailer that could tell the story of the movie, without giving away too much, and also do so differently using material that was new and not used so often. Originally it started with the Blue-and-White Disney castle from "the Little Mermaid" (as that one was remastered and this wasn't) until I thought about the new one. First using "101 Dalmataians", it was in Full-Frame and "Enchanted" was too bright, and I had very few similar openings that were what I liked, so I combined these two. But either way it ends with the music from Disney's "Hocus Pocus". It was the part after "remembers . . . Oz!" and before the shooting star that I couldn't decide with that musical montage part: sometimes it was in and other times it was out. But it's actually good this way. There were some bits I was particularly excited about doing and I'm glad they can be presented here. Sometimes I don't think it's as good, but hopefully you will still enjoy it nonetheless. We're coming up to the 22nd year without Jim Henson. I thought I'd upload this video I've had in my collection in remembrance of Mr. Henson. I hope you enjoy it. This was filmed in 1989 during the Puppeteers of America Festival at MIT. It's a little bit of a Q&A, and Kermit, Cookie Monster, Fozzie, Animal, Grover, and Rowlf make appearances and answer some questions from audience members. When I'm finished converting the files, I believe it'll be around 6 or 7 parts. EDIT: Sorry the Quality isn't great. Mp4, you know. The original file isn't of excellent quality either, but it was too large to put up on youtube as an AVI.
