Granada's Brideshead Revisited is a true gem, with an ensemble of great acting from ALL the actors - everyone was just perfect and gave very accurate rendering of Waugh's original characters, from the leads to minor roles like Samgrass, Rex, Mulcaster... Gielgud, Olivier, and Claire Bloom are just so effortlessly good, up to their usual par; I especially think Bloom did an outstanding job playing a very difficult role, she had that exact "voice as quiet as a prayer and as powerful." And Nickolas Grace deserves a special ovation for his extraordinary performance as Anthony Blanch!

Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Evelyn Waugh. This film version focuses on forbidden love and the loss of innocence, set in the pre-WWII era. Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode) becomes entranced with the noble Marchmain family, first through the charming and provocative Sebastian Flyte (Ben Whishaw), and then his sister, Julia (Hayley Atwell). The rise and fall of Charles' infatuations reflect the decline of a decadent aristocracy in England between the wars — chronicled through his repeated visits to the Marchmain's Brideshead estate.

Music score by Geoffrey Burgon for the UK TV drama series Brideshead Revisited, based on the 1945 novel by Evelyn Waugh.

Brideshead's basic structure of 80's influenced guitar pop was originated in 1993 under the moniker of Starfish. Debuting with the EP This is Mall Music two years later on Apricot Records, the band was in the midst of a revolving roster that would haunt them until 1997. Eventually settling with Martin Nelte (vocals), Zwen Keller (guitar), Hanns-Christian Mahler (guitar), Paul Engling (bass) and Daniel Kubsch (drums), the Frankfurt natives finally had the chance to record their first full-length on Marsh-Marigold entitled Some People Have All The Fun. Released in 1998, Brideshead toured the US in support of it the following year.

A tribute to Lord Sebastian Flyte in all his beauty and innocence. Also a nod to his friendship with Charles. The remake made me sad (ugh my eyes) so I used the BBc version. I urge anyone who loved the novel to see this version. This one is very special to me and I would appreciate comments. I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as I did making it =)

I defenetly think this two were very romantic though is an unsuccessful romance, all the same is a very nice couple to watch , they are very subtle. The acting is great and if you like period movies I think you enjoy it very much. Hope you enjoy it! =) Movie Plot(source Imdb):A poignant story of forbidden love and the loss of innocence set in England prior to the Second World War. The memoirs of Captain Charles Ryder who is stationed at Brideshead Castle during WWII and remembers his involvement with the owners of the Brideshead estate: the aristocratic yet Catholic Flyte family and in particular brother and sister Sebastian and Julia .It's for the most part a fairly tragic story of a young man, Charles (Matthew Goode, charming and suave but also subtle and down-beat, a really fine turn), who enrolls at Oxford and meets a meek/'fey' guy named Sebastian, and through him he's introduced (reluctantly in point of fact) to Sebastian's family, including his sister Julia, and his very cold and strident mother (Emma Thompson). Sebastian really wants Charles all for himself - it's a friendship that goes just a nose-hair's length into admitting homosexuality but never really goes that far despite all appearances to the contrary - but he becomes apart of the fold, and as well falling deeply in love with Julia against 'other' wishes (mostly the matriarch's over Charles's religion). Director: Julian Jarrold Writers: Andrew Davies, Jeremy Brock. Cast: Matthew Goode ... Charles Ryder ...
