Me attempting to do 24 different accents from my own country and from other countries around the world. Hopefully I got most of them right but I may have made mistakes and I can do some better than others. However, I made this video for my friends because I promised them I would do an accent video. I mean no offence to anyone and please don't be upset if I have not included your specific accent or got it wrong. Please enable and read the annotations too, as they explain a few things. Also please note that I learned most of these accents randomly off of TV, movies and video games over the years and some can be very stereotypical. And yes, I am filming in the garden shed lol as its more quiet in there.

Some British accents: Neutral, Southern, Cockney and Yorkshire. I made this video because a lot of you wanted to know how to actually speak in different accents, so this shows you a little of how I do it. Please visit my Blogging website where I have a more detailed description of how to achieve the accent! jo-burgess.blogspot.com (NO offence to be taken from this video, just passing on what I have learnt!) I hope it isn't too confusing, I have a tendency to make things seem harder than they are! Accents just come to me, without all the theory, so it might be a little confusing to get it all down in a tutorial! The 'Neutral' English accent Most sentences go down slightly towards the end of a phrase, instead of a rising tone like a question. A, EIOU When pronouncing vowels try to rest your tongue low in the mouth, whilst keeping the roof high. A as in the word 'Hay,' E as in the word 'please' I as in the word, 'Hide' O silent 'w' as in the word 'snow' U as in the word 'stew' Remember to keep the vowel sounds short- it, put, let, pet, pat. With very precise 'T's'. Letter Differences The 'U' is pronounced in most English accents as in the word 'stupid' and 'duty' with a 'tight' 'ew' sound. Avoid the 'oo' sound which is in the American accent: pronounced 'stewpid' not 'stoopid'. The letter 'A' is said as in the word 'father' which comes from the back of the mouth, with an open throat. It sounds like 'Arh' it is very much exaggerated in the neutral RP British accent. The <b>...</b>
