This video seems to have disappeared. There is another version of this with a 50 second introduction here: www dot youtube dot com/watch?v=TpNWSW49IBM . But the version I'm uploading does not have the introduction. Until viewing You Tube I was not aware of Eric Burdon and The Animals, I had heard their songs, but didn't know who sang them. It's not a good idea for You Tube to remove these videos since they are a form of marketing and they make people aware of these artists. For example I just bought the 2 CD set "The Complete Animals [Extra Tracks] [Import]" from Amazon. They contain 41 tracks, the complete recordings made with Mickie Most as producer. Some of their future songs are not included since Mickie Most was not the producer at that time. Wouldn't have bought these CDs had I not learned about Eric Burdon and The Animals from these You Tube videos.

ERIC BURDON & THE ANIMALS- "SKY PILOT" (LONG VERSION)

WENT TO # 14 IN 1968. LYRICS- He blesses the boys as they stand in line The smell of gun grease and the bayonets they shine He's there to help them all that he can To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man Sky pilot, Sky pilot, How high can you fly? You'll never, never, never reach the sky. He smiles at the young soldiers Tells them it's all right He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight Soon there'll be blood and many will die Mothers and fathers back home they will cry Sky pilot, Sky pilot, How high can you fly? You'll never, never, never reach the sky. He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile The order is given They move down the line But he'll stay behind and he'll meditate But it won't stop the bleeding or ease the hate As the young men move out into the battle zone He feels good, with God you're never alone He feels tired and he lays on his bed Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said Sky pilot, Sky pilot, How high can you fly? You'll never, never, never reach the sky. You're soldiers of God, you must understand The fate of your country is in your young hands May God give you strength Do your job real well If it all was worth it Only time it will tell In the morning they return With tears in their eyes The stench of death drifts up to the skies A soldier so ill looks at the sky pilot Remembers the words "Thou shalt not kill." Sky pilot, Sky pilot, How high can you fly? You'll never, never, never reach the sky.

Lyrics For you, my friend, I'd do anything Shine your shoes, anything Lose your blues, make love to you Take you under my wing, anything For you, my hero, I'd do anything Paint your picture, anything Kiss your photograph even though I know you'd laugh Stand beneath your wings, Oh, anything And for you, my love, I would do anything Kiss your feet and everything Suffer your pain but I'd ride your train Spread our tiny wings, baby, anything And for you, my son, I'd do everything Protect your mind from everything I could read your lies, dry tears from your eyes Spread your tiny wings, anything 'Cause everything is anything And everything is anything

The Fool Lyrics: It's All Over Now, Baby Blue (Bob Dylan) You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last. But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast. Yonder stands your orphan with his gun, Crying like a fire in the sun. Look out the saints are comin' through And it's all over now, Baby Blue. The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense. Take what you have gathered from coincidence. The empty-handed painter from your streets Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets. This sky, too, is folding under you And it's all over now, Baby Blue. All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home. All your reindeer armies, are all going home. The lover who just walked out your door Has taken all his blankets from the floor. The carpet, too, is moving under you And it's all over now, Baby Blue. Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you. Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you. The vagabond who's rapping at your door Is standing in the clothes that you once wore. Strike another match, go start ...

Eric Burdon:Devil Run

This video was shot quite a while back, when my latest CD "Soul of a Man" was released. I decided not to publish it at the time, as the world was just getting crazier and crazier every day with mad gunplay. With the latest tragic events, I feel it's time to once again express my feelings about war (the human catastrophy, not the band !!). I was born in 1941 and war is part of my life ever since. I'm so sick of war. War is a disease which has spread all over the world. Don't people understand? War is not working! It solves nothing!!!! As they say, it doesn't decide who's right, only who is left. The overwhelming number of casualties in today's conflicts are not soldiers but civilians, especially children. What is wrong with this picture? To all who will listen, I declare, No More War. DON'T PRAY FOR PEACE, MAKE PEACE! Eric Burdon
