Businessweek Reporter: 6 More Dewey & LeBoeuf's on Horizon

April 25 (Bloomberg Law) -- Businessweek writer Paul Barrett says the recent troubles at law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf are the leading edge of a "broad restructuring among some of the best known brand names in American law." He tells Bloomberg Law's Lee Pacchia that half a dozen big firms could find themselves in situations similar to Dewey in the next couple of years. The "move toward gigantism is part of the problem" facing the nation's largest firms, which are coping with an oversupply of lawyers, he says.

MEEPASS MobileTag aims to be your next ID - MWC

French software developer MTag has just launched its cutting edge mobile identification solution MEEPASS at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The secure ID tag works on any mobile phone and uses a 2D barcode that verifies a user's identity without the need for the handset to be network connected. The idea is that rather than carrying a wallet full of credit cards and ID, users' mobile phones act as a single source of verified and secure identification. Christian François Viala, marketing director for MTag, said the software functioned without any connection costs and didn't use a Near Field Communication chip - so removing the Big Brother effect often associated with this type of technology. He told smartphone.biz-news that although MEEPASS was a new product the technology had been tried and tested with the company's mobiletag barcode reader software.

"The US Govt. is in the Gun, Drug & Prison Business" Week @ RevolutionNews.US 8/8/11

Real News @ RevolutionNews.US — The US Govt. Has Been Complicit In Gun & Drug Running For Decades... CIA CRACK/BILL CLINTON / BUSH /REAGAN =DOPE DEALERS... Barry Seal -- gunrunner, drug trafficker, and covert CIA operative extraordinaire -- is hardly a familiar name in American politics. But nine years after he was murdered in a hail of bullets by Medellin cartel hit men outside a Salvation Army shelter in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he has come back to haunt the reputations of three American presidents. Seal's legacy includes more than 2000 newly discovered documents that now verify and quantify much of what previously had been only suspicion, conjecture, and legend. The documents confirm that from 1981 to his brutal death in 1986, Barry Seal carried on one of the most lucrative, extensive, and brazen operations in the history of the international drug trade, and that he did it with the evident complicity, if not collusion, of elements of the United States government, apparently with the acquiescence of Ronald Reagan's administration, impunity from any subsequent exposure by George Bush's administration, and under the usually acute political nose of then Arkansas governor Bill Clinton. Top 10 Cities in the US

Business week has come up with an interesting list of the top 50 American cities to live in. Number 8 is Virginia Beach, a beautiful beach city with miles of boardwalks. San Diego, the city with the best weather in the country, is 7th on the list. Ranked 6th is Washington DC, the nation's capital with some of the best museums in the world and the lowest foreclosure rate on the list. Irvine, California - no. 5 - has the best schools of any city on the list and a median income of $92195. Fourth is Scottsdale, Arizona, the wealthy Phoenix suburb surprisingly beat out the california cities in the top 10. Gorgeous Honolulu, HI comes in third with low unemployment and a low foreclosure rate. Second is Arlington, Virginia with the lowest unemployment rate of cities on the list and ⅔ of its population holding college degrees. And number one is Raleigh, NC.
