bwone.com twitter.com Lets compared the Logitech HD Pro C910 and Microsoft LifeCam Studio. Hardware Both take a completely different approach hardware wise. The LifeCam Studio takes a more traditional approach to the design of their webcam with an all aluminum body and flexible hinge with a tripod hole and can be pointed in several different direction. The HD Pro C910 is full wide angle design with a mix of plastic and metal making. The hinge is not as flexible as the LifeCam Studio. Its also a bit heavier than the LifeCam Studio as well. Both have 1080p and improved audio but that's where the differences come into play. Usage Both cameras are pretty easy to use and setup. Both use their own special software with LifeCam Studio using LifeCam software and the C910 using Logitech HD Vid. Both software packages work well and are simple to use. The biggest difference between the web cams is the video and audio recording. Both cams tout 1080p capabilities but the LifeCam does not record video in 1080p and can only take pictures in 1080p which is a big let down since this is advertises as 1080p you would assume it could do video but video only records in 720p. The C910 records in full 1080p and looks great with sharp colors. One the flip side the audio is not as good in the C910 as it in in the LifeCam Studio that has audio that sounds like you are using a separate microphone. Both cameras support HD video calling but you'll need to make sure both party meet the specs required <b>...</b>

Hello I'm just testing out my new Logitech C910 Webcam in widescreen with my guitar, just messing around and testing out the quality and sound that this webcam can pick up, seems to work pretty well in my opinion. It has a 1080p option, but I had to record it on 720p because my laptop specs aren't too great, my laptop is pretty old sony vaio vgn-s460, Windows XP, Intel Pentium M Processor, 1.73 GHz, 1.25 GB RAM, so make you have a good, fast computer if you want 1080p, oh and it can take up to 10mp photos. I recorded this straight from the webcam, no extra effects, external mics, or anything, and the webcam software also has this cool youtube uploader I used so it's pretty convenient. The uploader directly uploads the video, like this video you see right here straight into youtube from the Logitech settings. This was not really planned and just all one take from out of the blue, so forgive my crappy playing & mess ups haha. Note: If you already have this webcam, make sure to uncheck the RightSound option before you record or it will cause your guitar to make this bad flangy/underwater type sound. Hardware The C910 comes with the build quality that you would expect from Logitech with a build that is made up of both metal and plastic that comes build solid. It has a wide angle body to it with dual microphones on each side of. The lens is a Carl Zeiss lens behind glass. The hinge is made to sit on top of a LCD screen but its limited in range and doesn't move all around and there is no tripod hold to put it on a stand. It does stand well on its own but you'll be limited to the angles you can use. Usage The camera is simple and easy to setup. You will need to use Logitech Vid HD software to use the webcam. I will say it's a lot better software coming from Logitech here than from the past which felt more like bloatware. Video chat can do up to 720p but you'll need to use Logitech HD Vid chat software to use it and the users on the other end will need the same camera and a separate microphone to achieve this. Speaking of the microphone you may want to get a separate one for better audio quality as this one is ok but definitely not the greatest and not what I was expecting from the dual microphones. The best part of this webcam that it can record in crystal clear 1080p video unlike some other cameras that we have review that claim 1080p. A bit more of random Star Trek Online footage. Apparently YouTube didn't like the fps I picked to the catpure, but it's still effective at showing how well this Webcam does low light. The 10megapixel sensor in this webcam and the optics make for a decent webcam. What I noticed the most is the distinct lack of noise in this dark room while capturing the projection. I also have two Logitech C510's I'll be expirementing with more in later videos.
I purchased a Logitech C910 a few months back and one of the biggest issues was the lack of support for the Mac platform. There was no HD support nor any dedicated application. That said, the quality of this webcam was superb when compared with previous Logitech models (performed superbly in low light conditions) and the standard iSight found on Mac's. Logitech, as of today, have announced (finally!) support for the Mac platform - and this is what this video is entirely about. Hello again, this is my second time demoing the Logitech C910 HD Pro Webcam again since I had a request for me to play my guitar on the higher frets this time. Overall I think this webcam has great picture quality, is simple to use, and picks up the sound quite well. The bass is usually a bit punchy so you may have be careful not to record too close or have the mic turned down a bit if you do. Again this video was recorded straight from the webcam microphone, so no external microphones, extra effects, or anything. Note: If you already have this webcam, make sure to uncheck the RightSound option before you record or it will cause your guitar to make this bad flangy/underwater type sound. Have any questions?
