Constantina Tomescu-Diṭă put the crown on her career with a decisive victory in the women's Olympic marathon in Beijing on Sunday 17th August 2008. At 38, the Romanian athlete, who has been sponsored by ASICS for seven years, is the oldest Olympic marathon winner in history. In this interview she speaks with her husband/coach about her tactics during the race, her thoughts, and her feelings about the victory. Importantly enough, she talks about how the ASICS shoes she ran the event in, meant she had no blistered feet to show to photographers!

Stavros and Constantina performing "I Agapi Akoma Zi" ("Love Still Lives"), the Cypriot entry at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest. After enjoying great success with their first two entries (btw, Stavros was the lyricist of their '81 debut), this represented a cruel change of fates for Cyprus, who wouldn't see another top-10 placing until 1987 (it was even the only time that we didn't give them ANY points!). However, I personally like this simple and optimistic ballad, even though I find the live performance to be way louder than necessary! And a bit artist info: Constantina became a very successful artist in Greece during the late 80s-early 90s (she's basically retired now), and even had her revenge as the composer of Cyprus' 1997 entry, with the performers being her brother and sister. And notice, in the backing vocals, Evridiki and Elena Patroklou, in their first-ever appearances at the contest!

Olympic marathon champion Constantina Dita enjoyed an exclusive tour around the new ASCIS Flagship Sotre in Amsterdam. Dita gave an interview in which she talks about her preperation for London. It will be her 10th time to run London marathon. Also she talks about the Olympics and about her favorite shoes. ASICS opens its ultra-modern Flagship Store in Amsterdam, a unique store concept right next to the city's most famous running spot. The new ASICS Flagship Store Amsterdam is more than just a retail outlet as it offers runners several exclusive services and is the first European site to offer the ASICS Running LAB concept to consumers. Developed by the ASICS Institute of Sport Science in Kobe (Japan), this service has, so far, only been available to professional athletes. The store is now partially open but will be fully operational, with all departments open to the public, at the beginning of March.
