White Buffalo by Cusco

White Buffalo are considered to be sacred signs in several Native American religions, and thus have great spiritual importance in those cultures and are visited for prayer and other religious ceremonies. (Source Wikipedia). When I was doing this video I felt the spirit and the heartbeat of the White Buffalo and Cusco performed this piece of music outstanding. It is from their last Album in the Apurimac Serie, Apurimac III.

Cusco - Flying Condor

This is a very pretty song from the group called Cusco that does new age type music. I own three of their CD's. This song is fom the CD "The Best of Cusco" and is one of my favorites. Enjoy! Close your eyes and just imagine yourself soaring with the Condor. Imagine that you are that condor... or whatever mighty winged creature you may think of. Then, spread your wings and fly. ^^

Cusco "Kokopelli's Dream"

Video from a morning at the Hobe Sound Florida Beach. Some regulars enjoy a nice walk and I was glad to be able to catch them. This is a great song I wish to share and promote/post because it is a fine example of Cusco featuring Craig Chaquico; from the Album Apurimac III Nature Spirit Pride. Craig played lead guitar for Jefferson Starship for years and went on to be a great instrumental guitarist and composer. This song really is a favorite and stands out to me. Hope you like it also. That morning I wanted to try out some of my old color filters from Tiffen to see how they worked on this new Digital Camera. Worked out in a way when coupled with the Dream themed song.

Cusco, Peru

Recorded March 4, 2009. Cusco (also spelled Cuzco) is a city in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley (Sacred Valley) of the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. The city has a population of 348935 which is triple the figure of 20 years ago. Located on the eastern end of the Knot of Cusco, its altitude is around 11000 feet. Cusco is the historic capital of the Inca Empire and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO. It is a major tourist destination and receives almost a million visitors a year. It is designated as the Historical Capital of Peru by the Constitution of Peru. The video begins at my hotel, the Libertador, and then continues directly across the street at the Coricancha (' Temple of the Sun') which was the most important temple in the Inca Empire. We then visit Sacsayhuamán, an Inca walled complex. These ruins are at an altitude of 12142 feet. While at the ruins we are able to view several llama grazing in the area. We then descend back into the city and visit the Cathedral of Cusco on the Plaza de Armas. From: timvp.com

Longboarding, Long Treks Episode10: Abancay to Cusco

These gringos push into real trouble, after a night-long torrential downpour they wake up to a 15km ascent into Abancay. It is steep and the locals harass them into a fury resulting in Paul nearly murdering a dog and Aaron suffering from a cramp in his butt. 3 mountain passes are conquered before Cuzco and some terribly dangerous downhills. Cuzco is a major landmark city in the journey, and in triumph they throw water balloons at anything that moves. After Adam nearly getting beaten up and arrested for throwing water balloons at a man on steroids (not caught on film), they leave Cuzco only to find themselves lost and trespassing on Cuzco's airport landing strip. Enjoy! Longboarding, Longboard, Longboards

Cusco and its surroundings

Visit of / Visite de / Besuch von / Visita de / Chiamata di Cuzco Tambomachay Pukapukara Q'enqo Sacsahuayman Cuzco was the capital of Inca Empire. Many believe that the city was planned to be shaped like a puma. The city had two sectors: the urin and hanan, which were further divided to each encompass two of the four provinces, Chinchasuyu (NW), Antisuyu (NE), Cuntisuyu (SW), and Collasuyu (SE). A road led from each of these quarters to the corresponding quarter of the empire. Each local leader was required to build a house in the city and live part of the year in Cuzco, but only in the quarter of Cuzco that corresponded to the quarter of the empire he had territory in. After Pachacuti, when an Inca died his title went to one son and his property was given to a corporation controlled by his other relatives, so each title holder had to build a new house and add new lands to the empire, in order to own any home and the land his family needed to maintain it after his death. Andean Indians still abandon their homes and build new ones when they marry, even if no one remains in the house. According to Inca legend, the city was built by Sapa Inca Pachacuti, the man who transformed the Kingdom of Cuzco from a sleepy city-state into the vast empire of Tahuantinsuyu. But archaeological evidence points to a slower, more organic growth of the city beginning before Pachacuti. There was however a city plan, and two rivers were channeled around the city. Bot Fly Removal After Jungle Hike. Cusco, Peru HD

This is a video of a small bot fly being surgically removed from my shoulder. I got the bot fly during an 8-day hike in the Bolivian Amazon. It wasn't until 3 weeks later that I realized what it was. I know that we could have suffocated the litter bugger and then removed it ourselves, but we were traveling at the time and were in a big city, and I just wanted to get it out of my body. Warning: this video is gross. I wasn't even planning on sharing it, but a lot of people asked to see it.

Peru Rail Cusco to Machu Picchu

This is said to be one of the "Great" rail journey's of the world. Originally running between Cusco & Machu Picchu in Peru, South America, but for the last year or so, starting some 40 minutes from Cusco at the small village of Poroy. This is due to the length of the journey (4 hours, from Cusco, many tourists think this is too long in a train!!) This diesel service now takes approx 2 hours to complete the journey to the Lost City of the Inca's. The train follows the river through the Urubamba valley for much of the journey. We travel through the 1000ft gorges, the mountain peaks are dusted with snow and on this Vistadome Express are made to feel like Inca Kings & Queens. At the new main station of Machu Picchu, ( the old one in the middle of the town is now used by back packers & locals only), is in the centre of the tourist hotel area, it allows rail fans, such as us, the benefits of seeing all of the trains from the comfort of our hotel. We have managed to film some scenes in the main street, plus within the new staion and also from our hotel balcony. For more info on our other productions, please log onto www.sprucestudios.com. CUSCO Peru

Today, a proud symbol of the Conquistadores, the historic Spanish conqueror's towers over the town of Cusco in Peru's mountains. Prior to the arrival of the Spanish, Cusco lay at the centre of the Inca world and was the capital and religious centre of an immense kingdom. The unique combination of Spanish and Inca culture is apparent in the attractive architecture of the town. Typical characteristics of the houses are the overhanging tiled roofs and beautiful old balconies. One of the town's most extravagant colonial buildings, the La Compania de Jesus Church in the Plaza De Armas Square, was built on mighty Inca foundations. Some of Cusco's streets still display the impressive and sturdy architecture of the Inca people. Attractive houses line the former procession roads of the Inca that led from the main square, today's Plaza De Armas, to the Sun Temple. Although historic, Cusco is full of mystery and speculation with regard to its famous Inca predecessors.

Train Ride from Cusco to Machu Picchu, Peru

Visitors to Machu Picchu in Peru can get there one of two ways - by hiking for either four or seven days, or on a train that can be boarded at either Cusco or Ollantaytambo. I took Peru Rail's Vistadome, which provides large side windows and overhead skylights that give the best possible views of this incredible journey through the Sacred Valley and the cloud forest that is home to the ancient Inca ruins. The video shows the train and the services it provides, including the zig zag tracks that allow it to descend the steep grade into the river valley, where spectacled bears roam the banks and orchids carpet the trees. The price for the 3.5 hour, 57 mile trip was approximately $75 USD each way. To read more about my round-the-world travels, visit my blog, holeinthedonut.com.

The team had told me to go out and get us a 15-second margin and I was able to do that, so it was a perfect race for me. Two years ago, our team manager, Mr. Omizo, brought me to this team saying that he wanted me to help them win with the Impreza. Last year we tried but couldn't turn the effort into results. This year the machine has been very good, so we really wanted that first win, and everyone on the team was determined that this race at Sepang would be it. Everyone did there job to give us this win. I am really happy."
The Waltzing Prince by Cusco

Toview in better quality click on High Quality Link - www.youtube.com For Christel! When we talked about Cusco a group from Germany, with their music I have made already a couple of videos, Christel pointed me on The Waltzing Prince. When I heard this song again something plopped into my mind, yes again :-) I remember when my grandparents visiting us, my grandfather read always a fairy tale for me. When he did that, I was sitting on the ground with my head on his knees. He had a great voice while he was reading. My most favorite fairy tale was The Frog Prince, and they told me that I always make faces when he read the episode that the Princess had to kiss the frog. With that sweet memory in my head I made this video.
