Trivium - The Calamity *with lyrics*

This is a great song off of Trivium's new Shogun album. This video also includes the correct lyrics for the song. Lyrics: You cannot be, you're the mistake: calamity Sent to destroy all of the good on this Earth, killing me You're killing me The mother of ruination comes to fuck all Mutilating everything, spread wide open, beckoning Beckoning me Spiral faster down Ripping a hole through the air we breathe An apocalypse Encased in a shell, so beautiful The calamity makes its way to the inside I know we are feeling the same thing The calamity makes its way to the inside To eat away at our existence Spewed from the wound of this life's worst cavity; the Nightmare spreads it's cancerous lamentations, poisoning Force-feed the plague Drunk from the milk of death's overflowing sick tit Nourishing the misery, gives birth to the ugliness That grows inside Spiral faster down Ripping a hole through the air we breathe An apocalypse Encased in a shell, so beautiful The calamity makes its way to the inside I know we are feeling the same thing The calamity makes its way to the inside To eat away at our existence Isolate The heart from the brain Permeate Inject us with pain Holding our breath now We're screaming without sound We're trembling as everything falls completely apart Meteor crash down Come crater our woe out The banishment of everything once alive will start now [solo: MKH] [solo: CKB] Holding our breath now We're screaming without sound The banishment of everything once alive ...

Calamity Jane - Trailer (1953)

Deadwood, Dakota Territory, is largely the abode of men, where Indian scout Calamity Jane is as hard-riding, boastful, and handy with a gun as any; quite an overpowering personality. But the army lieutenant she favors doesn't really appreciate her finer qualities. One of Jane's boasts brings her to Chicago to recruit an actress for the Golden Garter stage. Arrived, the lady in question appears (at first) to be a more feminine rival for the favors of Jane's male friends...including her friendly enemy Wild Bill Hickock.
The Deadwood Stage from Calamity Jane (1953)

This is our first introduction to the boisterous Calamity Jane (Doris Day) as she arrives in Deadwood City with a wagon full of goods. The sequence extends to include her entry into the Golden Garter, where we encounter Wild Bill Hickok (Howard Keel); one of the love interests in the movie....

A Woman's Touch from Calamity Jane (1953)

Calamity Jane (Doris Day) has just agreed to let Katie Brown (Allyn Ann McLerie) stay with her, so they can act as each other's "chaperone". In this scene, a dismayed Katie enters Calam's ramshackle cabin for the first time. Following Calam's (heart-wrenching) exclamation about the pitiful accommodations she has to offer and her failings as a "lady", Katie shows her how she can become the ideal 1950's housewife. While redecorating the cabin and getting Calam a more feminine wardrobe, they sing the virtues of women as agents of cleanliness. After their duet, Katie teaches Calam the age-old gimmick of baking cakes and pies to win a man's affection. Note: It's also a special kind of hospitality to allow your guest to paint her name on your door! Lyrics: [Katie:] A woman's touch [Calam:] A woman's touch [Katie:] The magic of Aladdin couldn't do as much! [Katie:] She's a wizard, she's a champ [Calam:] And she doesn't need a lamp! [Katie:] A woman's touch, Can weave a spell. The kind of hocus-pocus That she does so well. [Calam:] With the magic of a broom, She can mesmerize a room. [Katie:] With a whisk-whisk here, And a whisk-whisk there, And a dustpan for the cinders. [Calam:] With a rub-rub here, And a rub-rub there, She could polish up the winders. [Calam:] Then presto-chango, suddenly.... The sun comes shining through! [Katie:] And what does Mr. Sunshine say to you? [Calam:] How-d'ya-do [Katie:] It makes you blink, To stop and think, A woman and a whisk broom... [Calam ...

The Windy City from Calamity Jane (1953)

Calamity Jane (Doris Day) sings "The Windy City" to her comrades upon her return from Chicago, where she had gone to entice the actress Adelaide Adams to perform at the local theatre. It's a beautiful number that reveals both her pride for Deadwood City and its people, as well as how sheltered she has been in the comfort of her little town. Coming down from a realization of how her masculine behaviour is perceived by other people, and how other women act and behave in other places, she may also be trying make a defensive claim about who and what she is. Lyrics: I just blew in from the Windy City The Windy City is mighty purty But they ain't got what we got, no sirree They've got shacks up to seven stories Never see any Morning Glory's But a step from our doorway... We got 'em for free! They've got those minstrel shows, Purty ladies in the big chapeaux Private lawns, public parks... For the sake of civic virtue, They've got fountains there that squirt you! I just blew in from the Windy City The Windy City is mighty purty But they ain't got what we got I'm tellin' ya, boys... We got more life in Deadwood City Than in all of Illinois! On the street was a dancing fellar All dressed up in a suit of yellar And the dance that he did there Went something like this: [tap dances] You should-a seen me a-wind'er shoppin' A-wind'er shoppin' with eyes a-poppin' At the sights that you see there, yes sirree Press a bell and a moment later, Up you go in an elevator Just as fast as a ...

Higher Than A Hawk from Calamity Jane (1953)

After meeting Katie, an actress from Chicago, and discovering that she will be staying in Deadwood City for a while, an elated Wild Bill (Howard Keel) loudly professes his newfound love. Unfortunately for the painter who is trying to create her likeness, Wild Bill latches onto the poor old guy, and sings to the painting, keeping the artist from his work with some amusing lyrics. Lyrics: My heart is higher than a hawk, My love is deeper than a well, I'm thinkin' in a little while, my love an' I'll be doin' very well. An owl is givin' me the eye, The wind is blowin' me a kiss, I wouldn't be at all surprised if I were only dreamin' all of this. And when I strut about like a Sunny Jim, Dressed in yeller and red, Folks'll shout, "Take a look at him! He's pitched in the head...!" I said that I would never fall, I laughed at others when they fell, And here... I'm falling... Higher than a hawk...and deeper than a well... And when... we're all rigged out like a birthday cake, Eyes'll pop everywhere. Folks'll shout, "Don't you think they make, a wonderful pair?" I said that I would never fall, But if you promise not to tell, My love for you... is higher than a hawk, And deeper than a well. **Note: The content of this video belongs exclusively to Paramount Studios and all the people involved in its construction and distribution.

Black Hills of Dakota from Calamity Jane (1953)

The town heads out to the Ft. Scully Annual Ball, with Calamity Jane (Doris Day) and Wild Bill (Howard Keel) seated prominently in the head carriage and Lt. Danny Gilmartin (Philip Carey) and Katie (Allyn Ann McLerie) behind them. Wild Bill and Danny had previously drawn straws to see who would get to escort Katie; Wild Bill, as the loser, has now been forced to spend the evening with Calamity. Bitterly, in his typical cutting fashion, he critiques Calamity's attire (what he can see of it) and she puts him in his place with a slow explanation (like one would give to a child). Then, in a rare moment of agreement, they sing their pride and love for their homeland, accompanied by the rest of the cast. (An aside: When I watch this video, I always want to poke Danny in the eye and wipe that smug, arrogant smile off his face!) Lyrics: [Wild Bill:] Take me back to the black hills, The black hills of Dakota. To the beautiful Indian country that I love. [Calamity:] Lost my heart in the black hills, The black hills of Dakota, Where the pines are so high that they kiss the skies above. [Calamity, Wild Bill, Katie, and Danny:] And when I get that lonesome feeling, And I'm miles away from home, I hear the voice of the mystic mountains calling me back home. [Calamity and Wild Bill:] So take me back to the black hills, The black hills of Dakota. To the beautiful Indian country that I love. Classic Game Room HD - BLAZBLUE: CALAMITY TRIGGER for PSP review

Classic Game Room HD reviews BLAZBLUE CALAMITY TRIGGER Portable for Sony PSP from publisher, Aksys. BlazBlue is a 2008 arcade game from Arc System Works which found its way onto the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 PS3 in 2009. The game is well received by fans of fighting games and comes to the portable Sony PSP in 2010 with BlazBlue Calamity Trigger Portable! The PSP is the current handheld to get for fighting games with a fine selection of titles. Games like BlazBlue explode off the screen with a vibrant, superb widescreen presentation and blazing high contrast visuals. The characters in BlazBlue are the stars and bring creativity and freshness to what could be "just another fighter". For the most part Blaz Blue is similar to the popular Capcom and SNK 2D fighters like Street Fighter and King of Fighters but with some unique special moves, character animations and bizarre visuals. BlazBlue PSP packs an arcade mode, ad-hoc multiplayer, a legion mode (survival mode) and storyline. The story makes no sense to me but who plays fighting games for a story? That's why you play Donkey Kong. This CGR review of BlazBlue Calamity Trigger on PSP has gameplay from Blaz Blue Calamity Trigger on PSP showing Blaze Blue game play from the PSP-30001.

I Can Do Without You from Calamity Jane (1953)

The courting dance of the Wild West, starring the defiant Calamity Jane (Doris Day), the exasperated Wild Bill Hickok (Howard Keel), and the on-looking Henry Miller (Paul Harvey). After Miller, owner of the theatre hall the Golden Garter, tried to pass off a male actor as a female singer (oh, the hilarity!), Calamity tried to save him from his very angry patrons by promising the visit of Adelaide Adams, star of the Chicago stage and the fantasy of all the men in Deadwood. Driven by the need to help out her dear friend, she had blurted out the only name she knew, not realizing the improbability of her statement. This scene starts with Miller, Calamity, and Wild Bill trying to decide what to do, and ends with a most entertaining display of anger and passion, performed through Kerr and Day's graceful slap-stick comedy. Lyrics: [Calamity:] In the Summer... you're the Winter In the finger... you're the splinter In the banquet, you're the stew. Say! I could do without you! [Wild Bill:] In the garden, you're the gopher, In the Levi's you're the loafer, Like an overturned canoe... Well, I could do without you! [Calamity:] You can go to... Philadelphia Take a hack to Hackensack. Hey!! I'll never RING a BELL fer ya! Or yell fer yer to come back!! [Wild Bill:] In the question, you're the why In the ointment, you're the FLY!! [Calamity:] Though I know some things are indispensable... Like a buck or two, If there's one thing I can do without, I can do without you! [Wild Bill:] In the ...

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Review (Xbox 360 / PS3)

I was a HUGE fan of the Guilty Gear series, with it's awesome metal tracks and great gameplay, and ANIME VISUALS, I couldn't help but love the series. But with that series now dead, I look to its spiritual successor to supply me with anime fighting metal goodness, and it does this! BlazBlue is a great fighting game, it's my second favorite one this gen, first being taken by Street Fighter 4, but it's still a fantastic game, but hear all about it, in my review. The Calamity of Anti-Capitalism: A Brief American History | Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

Lecture presented by Thomas E. Woods, Jr. at the Mises Circle in Seattle: "Capitalism the Creator." Sponsored by Curt and Allora Doolittle. Recorded 17 May 2008. mises.org The Mises Circle goes to Seattle to address contemporary issues in liberty, and the role of capitalism as the main force for every form of progress in our age. We live amidst its fruits--technology, culture, philanthropy, human well being--and have yet to appreciate the source. Indeed, among the most passionate opponents of the free market are those who have benefitted most enormously from it. Here we have a profound failure of understanding at work.
