What are Carbs?


Carbohydrates are caloric nutrients containing four (4) calories per gram. Carbohydrates are classified as simple or complex. Simple carbohydrates contain one or two sugar molecules and are easily absorbed into the body to be used for energy or stored. Complex carbohydrates have larger chains of sugars that must be broken down before being absorbed into the body to be utilized for energy or stored. Complex carbohydrates require more energy and take longer to digest. Carbohydrates are converted to glucose (blood sugar), which is the body's primary source of energy. Glucose is used to help burn fat for fuel and contributes to satiety (the ability to feel full.) Sources of Carbohydrates: Simple: table sugar, honey, cola drinks, candy, cakes, potatoes, fruits, etc. Complex: starchy vegetables, pasta, bread, popcorn, cereals and grains, vegetables, etc. For more information visit: Precision-Fitness.net

I wanted to do a new low carb video to welcome in the new year. These were a big hit at all my holiday family functions even with my non-low carbing family members. Most never new they were eating low carb fudge. The original recipe can be found here: www.genaw.com 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter 2 ounces softened cream cheese 1 cup Splenda 2/3 cup Vanilla Whey protein powder * Microwave the butter and peanut butter on HIGH for 1 minutes; mix thoroughly. * Mix in the cream chees * Add the Splenda and the whey protein powder until well combined. * Line a 8 x 8" baking pan with nonstick foil. Spread the fudge and press out with another nonstick piece of foil or plastic wrap. * Chill for one hour. Makes around 20 pieces. Atkins Diet Recipes: Low carb Cauliflower Bisque (IF)


Low Carb Cauliflower Bisque: 1 small onion, diced 2 stalks celery, finely sliced 1 TBS butter 1 Medium cauliflower, chopped 3 cups chicken broth 1/2 cup cream Salt and pepper Courtesy of Linda's Low Carb (genaw.com In a large frying pan, saute the onion and celery until translucent and tender. Salt and pepper to taste. Add cauliflower and the broth; bring to boil. Change heat to medium-low for 20-25 minutes. Add Cream. Use a stick blender or blender to liquify the soup until completely smooth and thick. Add salt and pepper, if needed. Optional toppings: Cheddar cheese or real bacon bits. Makes about 8 servings. How to sync carbs on a 1977 CB550


This video demonstrates the procedure to synchronize a carburetor on a 1977 Honda CB550. It is really important, especially for bikes of this vintage, to synchronize your carbs at the beginning of every riding season or after any repair or adjustment to the carbs. This bike still needs some work to be road ready, but it has a lot of potential and is super cafe racer cool. If you are attempting to do this procedure yourself and have any questions before you start, feel free to let me know. That's the good thing about Youtube, FREE INFORMATION FOR ALL!!!!! EDIT: Here are a few edits I would like to make to this video after watching it a couple of times. 1. Make sure your carb synch comes after everything else in a normal tune up. This includes Valve clearances, cam chain tension, spark plug gap/cleaning, point gap, ignition timing, air filter cleaning/replacement, and all the air bleed screw settings should be checked. 2. Engine speed for a carb synch should be around 1500rpms if possible. 3. The adjuster screw lockdown nuts should always be re-tightened after adjustment (I forgot to show it)

I hope you guys are as successful as I have been on low carb, and it is always great to hear from you. Low Carb Chocolate Cake (courtesy of Linda's Low Carb Site) 1 TBS Butter, microwave for 10 seconds to soften 1 Egg 1 TBS Da Vinci SF Vanilla syrup 2 TBS Splenda 1 TBS heavy cream Pinch salt 2 TBS cocoa Mix together all the ingredients until it is as smooth as possible. It should look similar to cake batter at this point. Microwave for 1 minute. For the special treat, add 1 TBS of whipped heavy cream (sweetened with Splenda). Makes 1 serving With granular Splenda: Per Serving: 267 Calories; 23g Fat; 9g Protein; 11g Carbohydrate; 4g Dietary Fiber; 7g Net Carbs With Liquid Splenda: 249 Calories, 23.4g Fat, 6.7g Total Carbs (3.2g Fiber), 8.7g Protein (IF = Induction Friendly)

Holley Carb Troubleshooting and Rebuild - Things to Check!


Did some more troubleshooting on the carb. Found a few major issues. 1. The primary float bowl float was not adjusted correctly and was not shutting off the fuel. The tab on the float was bent down allowing the float to travel all the way to the top of the bowl without seating the needle. This allowed fuel to continually flow into the carb and richen it! 2. The power valve was the wrong size. According to Holley, the valve should be 1/2 the measurement of vacuum at idle in drive. According to my vacuum measurements, the power valve installed was opening too soon and dumping raw fuel in the engine when it was not ready for it, again richening the mixture! 3. The idle mixture screws were not set correctly. They were at 2-1/4 turns out. That is too rich for this particular engine setup. Using a vacuum gauge, I adjusted the idle mixture for maximum vacuum at idle. In my case, that was 1-1/2 turns out which is also the recommended Holley starting point. 4. My vacuum advance was not connected to the right port. It was connected to manifold vacuum instead of ported vacuum off the carb. This caused the timing to always be advanced at idle and then retarded under load as manifold vacuum drops under load! Totally backwards! Ported vacuum on a Holley can be found above the idle mixture screw on the passenger side of the carb at the metering block. I bought this carb about 10 years ago as a "store return". I didn't do much to it then, assuming it was fine . I just bolted it on and <b>...</b>
