
Woking dug deep late on to snatch a shock victory over neighbours AFC Wimbledon in reach the Third Round of The FA Carlsberg Trophy. The Dons look hot favourites to win promotion to the Football League this season - but Elvis Hammond's goal at the death ended their Trophy interest. Woking have lost just two of their last 15 games and they showed the stunned Kingsmeadow crowd exactly why with an opening goal within just three minutes of kick-off. Hammond worked wonders on the wing before putting a chance on a plate for Moses Ademola, who smashed the ball into the roof of the net. The Cards started as they meant to go on and dominated the first half, but the Wimbledon defence stood tall to keep the Conference Premier side in the tie. The hosts were somewhat fortunate to level the scores on 38 minutes when Mark Nwokeji buried a half-chance, but Woking deservedly regained the lead in first-half stoppage time when Ademola doubled his tally for the afternoon with a confidently taken penalty kick. Only a tremendous save from Seb Brown could prevent Ademola from completing his hat-trick as Woking looked set to run away with the game in the second half. However, the vociferous travelling Cards fans were silenced with 20 minutes left when a Danny Kedwell spot-kick drew Wimbledon level once again.
