Cerebral Palsy and Physical Therapy

www.cpdiscovery.com, http When a child is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, a parent might wonder what's in store for them in terms of therapy. Which ones should they participate in? What is available? How long various interventions are expected to last? Noreen Scott is a Physical Therapist and owner of Tender Ones Therapy Services in Dacula, Georgia. She believes in the power of Physical Therapy when it comes to children with Cerebral Palsy. "When we work with children with CP, our ultimate goal is for them to be as functional as they can possibly be and as independent. In order to be able to do those skills and be independent, you have to have the building blocks. What those building blocks are...are getting your range of motion through an acceptable amount, being flexible, being strong, having good balance...so that child can stand and walk and be independent on their own and as they grow older," says Noreen. In the following video report, Noreen explains how Cerebral Palsy affects children, goals associated with Physical Therapy, and how long parents should expect their child to see a Physical Therapist. Cerebral Palsy Remix

This is a remix/ mashup created to help raise awareness of Cerebral Palsy. But more importantly, I hope that after watching this you will see that children with Cerebral Palsy are just like every other child. It's sad that many times people look at someone with a physical disability and assume that it means they are mentally delayed. It is my wish that these children and their families can be embraced and better understood by the general public. Zachary's Cerebral Palsy - Effects and Therapies

My first vlog. It's in two parts. This one is an informational piece on Zachary's cerebral palsy condition and how we work with him one-on-one. Just so everyone knows, my wife Renee works with Zachary the most every single day. She's an absolute blessing and a wonder in Zach's life. She doesn't like being on camera though, so I do these pieces to get information out and let family, friends and others know what we go through. Just wanted to clarify that! Renee was working and Zach and I had daddy/son time, so I made this video.

Medical Marijuana - Cerebral Palsy (Jacqueline Patterson - In Pot we Trust)

Cerebal Palsy is an umbrella term encompassing a group of non-progressive, non-contagious motor conditions that cause physical disability in human development, chiefly in the various areas of body movement - Wikipedia At some point very early in life, either while a baby is still growing in the womb, during birth or shortly after, something happens to interfere with the normal development of the brain or to injure the brain tissues. This abnormal development or injury disrupts the nerve signals between the brain and the muscles, leading to problems with movement, posture and coordination as the child grows up. While some people are severely affected, others have only minor disruption, depending on which parts of the brain are not functioning properly. It's estimated that as many as 1 in every 400 children may have cerebral palsy. - BBC Health After Jacqueline was reported for cannabis possession, she moved to California after succeeding in a court case that the consumption was strictly for medicinal purposes: www.youtube.com These clips are taken from the documentary 'In Pot we Trust' that displays a range of medical, social and political views and the medical purposes of marijuana in relation to Glaucoma, Multiple Sclerosis and Post-Dramatic Stress Disorder: www.youtube.com
