The United Nations Climate Change Conference is meeting in Cancun, Mexico from November 29 -- December 10 2010 where bureaucrats will work to transfer wealth and technology from developed to developing nations by raising the cost of traditional energy. But before these international bureaucrats get to "work", they decided to throw a lavish party for themselves.

This video, the second in the series, looks at alternative hypotheses explaining global warming. I am only looking at alternative hypotheses put forward by real, professional climate researchers, and the findings of real, professional climate researchers who disagree with them. Yes, I've left a lot of the detail out. This is a 10-minute video summarizing the arguments and counter-arguments, not a PhD thesis. The comments forum will be free and open, as always, but if you disagree with what real, professional climate scientists say, please take it up with them and dont expect me to defend their point of view. If you have a stunning piece of scientific evidence that disproves one side or the other, dont waste time on my channel, write a paper, and get it peer-reviewed and published in a reputable journal. PLEASE NOTE -- ERROR -- I quoted from an Oreskes Paper and incorrectly stated that nearly 700 papers "explicitely endorsed the view that man-made gases are responsible. This should read that these papers "explicitly or implicity endorsed the view that man-made gases are responsible." The papers that "implicitly" implied it were those that dealt with effects or mitigation measures. The original should not have been in quotation marks either. My apologies for the error.

The position of the celestial bodies is dependent from season and clime. Right now the 2D skybox uses one texture with some overlays applied and a procedurally generated static mesh for stars. All weather effects, daytime, clime and season are synced between client and server. Weather is randomly applied based on the current climate and the time of day can be read from the hosts computer. Additional information: --------------------------- The shadowmapping code is written from scratch and not based on Valves technique in any way. In my current build two shadowmaps at 3072² and 1024² are drawn to allow a shadow with a range of 10k units (the video just shows the former one though), all factors are variable and can be changed to the users liking. During a second pass of the main view various information (worldspace normals, screenspace normals, depth, sky mask, sharpen mask) are drawn via MRTs to different textures at once to allow post processing effects like SSAO, DOF, edge detection and godrays. All screenspace effects can be individually toggled as well. The weather effects include particle effects, fog, color correction and sounds, every weather routine can be assigned a weight to allow more variety. Particle effects are partially drawn in worldspace and a seperate view similar to how 3d skyboxes work.

Shadow of a Dinosaur. Climate Change - A Child's View
Sheffield City Council approached Bluespec to work with a local school to produce an animation on Global Warming and Climate change, as part of the Change4life government campaign. The emphasis of the video was on reducing Car Usage and promoting Active Travel instead - Walking, Cycling, using Public Transport and so on. Bluespec spent four, 3 hour sessions with the school children in total. The first session was an introduction to fossil fuels, carbon footprint and CO2 emissions. The second session was to produce a script originated by the children. In the third session the children produced all the artwork for the animation. Finally, the fourth session was for the children to voice all the characters and narration. Bluespec then digitally acquired all the elements and produced the finished production in 720p High Definition, within 10 days. Whilst this was being approved, Bluespec also produced an anthology of the children's' poetry on the same subject, into a DVD sized booklet to be included inside the finished DVD case. All artwork was produced for the packaging by Bluespec also, giving a professional family look to the finished product.
