Colgan Air Flight 3407, marketed as Continental Connection under a codeshare agreement with Continental Airlines, was a daily US regional airline commuter flight from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey to Buffalo Niagara International Airport in New York State. A Bombardier DHC8-402 Q400 operating as Flight 3407 departed late from Newark on February 12, 2009, at 9:20 pm EST. Shortly after the last communication by the flight crew with approach control at 10:11 pm (03:11, February 13 UTC), the plane stalled less than a mile northeast of the Outer Marker (LOM) while on an ILS approach to Runway 23[1] and crashed into a house in the northeast Buffalo suburb of Clarence Center, a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Clarence, about 5 nautical miles (9.3 km) short of the runway threshold. A total of 50 people were killed including the two pilots, two flight attendants, 45 passengers (including one off-duty pilot), and one person in the house. It was the first fatal crash of a commercial airliner in the United States since the crash of Comair Flight 191 in August 2006 that killed 49.

This is my favorite video so far. Talk about lucked out!!! In it is the 737 from the previous video. By a stroke of luck the 737 in front of us cancelled their take-off for unknown reasons. Now our plane the ERJ-145 gets to take off at the same time as a Boeing 737. We took off faster than the 737 and rotated first, but once airborne the 737 left us in the dust. This is a really cool video u will get to see the entire 737 take off parallel and even from the air. Enjoy.

For some reason this month Continental Airlines has two different safety videos. Both show Jeff Smisek walking around talking to employees, but the intro is different length and different. This is the video that is shorter and was shown on a 757-200. It is English and Spanish. It is a bit shaky in the beginning as I was getting the camera set up right. This was taken in the front of coach cabin of a Boeing 757-200. Jeff Smisek the CEO of United is talking in the beginning while Rhapsody in Blue is playing in the background. Continental Airlines 757-200 SAN Departure and EWR Arrival IN THIS VIDEO, you will see video that I shot while coming home from the 2009 MCAS Miramar Airshow. This was shot from a Boeing 757-200 with winglets and is shown departing from San Diego Lindbergh Field's Runway 27, a climbout that shows a good portion of the city, and arriving into Newark Liberty International Airport's Runway 22L. I apologize for the fact that it's a dark video, as I took a red eye flight back, as it was the most conveinent flight for my schedule, as I did not want to spend an extra night in San Diego and fly home on Monday and thus, lose an entire day due to traveling back home. While I'm not a fan of red eye flights because I can't sleep well on airplanes, it worked out well for me in terms of schedule. This video was shot with a small point & shoot digital camera, so I apologize for thequality. This was a very special flight for me. I had the pleasure to sit next to one of Continental Airlines most valuable flight attendants. Her name is Penny Schuchat and she has been with Continental for 47 years. She is the number 4 flight attendant on Continental Seniority list. Next February will be her 48 year. She started with Continental Airlines in 1964. I ask her if I can just video her. Thinking now I should have asked her more questions for the video, but we talked the entire flight. I learned so much. I learned so much from her about Continental. When I go to Auckland, I hope to have her on my flight. Thank you Penny for all the information. It was great talking to you.

It's September 15, 2011 and Continental Airlines Houston Hub is now re-branded into United Airlines. To my surprised it doesn't even look that bad and really, I doubt to many people will notice. It looks just like the old Continental. The Globes are all there and the United in Blue matches the Globe. It still looks like Continental to me. This is a change I can live with. I like how the signs also still say Continental Airlines.

To this date, Continental gives no explanation for the employees' violations of procedure and holds no employee accountable. Despite providing evidence of the lost items Continental Airlines still refuses to pay for the bags lost contents, such as heirloom family jewelery. This incident demonstrates the airlines hubris regarding customer service and indifference to passengers belongings. Airlines are thriving while surprisingly only compensating less than 6% of passengers for lost bags. The notion that passengers may have to keep an eye on their carry-on bag for fear of the crew mishandling it, or worse, means that sleeping through your red-eye or international flight may be a thing of the past. We believe passengers should of course be aware of their belongings, but they should not have to add to the irritations associated with flying the anxiety of lurking incompetence or thievery, like one might find at a bus station.

This video has a lot of first in it. First I'm on a brand new Continental Airlines Boeing 737-800 with Boeing Sky Interior. Next you will see a Qatar Airlines 777LR landing besides us at Houston. Qatar has only been flying to Houston for less than a year now. This is really rare that I would landing exactly as they are. I'm sorry about all the shaking after we land but all plane was very bumpy and I could hold the camera still enough. Finally, the cabin crew never bother to do any announcement I have NEVER had this happen on Continental Airlines before. I taped all the way to the gate. You will also see Singapore Airlines 777-300, British Airways 777-200ER and an Emirates 777LR. This was a perfect time to land at Houston Intercontinental.
