Big Bang Afterglow: A Look Into The Past

A look into far away celestial bodies is a look into the past. The light we see from stars and galaxies took sometimes millions of years to get to us. What we see is a look into the past. The farther away we look, further into the past we are able to look. If we look far enough, we can see the afterglow of the Big Bang. Before you get your panties in a bunch, GO TO THE F**KING LINKS AND EDUMACATE YOURSELF on this before you post comments confirming your idiocy. You don't have to agree with the Big Bang because it hasn't been proven. However, don't assume that the Big Bang is highly impossible, either. Life With No Afterlife

Atheists are told they believe in nothing. This is my perspective on Life and Death without an afterlife. It is seen as depressing that not many atheists don't believe in an afterlife. Many atheists do not see it that way. I can only speak for myself in this video...this is in no way a reflection of "atheists" in general. It is my own. If others agree, then they agree. I see life as worth living even if it is the only life we have. In essence, that fact itself makes one want to make it truly count. My brain will die along with its cells, and my body will become a part of the Earth (I want to be buried naturally and without chemicals). That is more than satisfying to me. I do not need the thought of an afterlife for me to value life. In fact, that would be insulting to life itself. Everything dies on Earth, just as things die in the universe. But that is not the end. The energy that dies is recycled into something else in the universe. That is more than beautiful to me. Before you judge those who do not believe in an afterlife, try to take this into perspective. ******Also******Before you jump the gun and accuse me of being a pantheist, PLEASE research (and not just from Wikipedia) what Pantheism or Panentheism actually is. It blows my mind away at the fact that if an atheist makes a video or talks about how they love the Universe, they are accused of viewing it as God. No. The people who do that are just trying to cause trouble because they can't fathom someone actually ...

Dark Matter & Dark Energy,good

Beautiful orrery(solar system model) avaiable in : www.orrerystore.com .Neil deGrasse Tyson offers one of the simplest, most straightforward summaries of one of the greatest challenges and questions facing modern Science today. In astronomy and cosmology, dark matter is a hypothetical form of matter that is undetectable by its emitted electromagnetic radiation, but whose presence can be inferred from gravitational effects on visible matter. According to present observations of structures larger than galaxies, as well as Big Bang cosmology, dark matter and dark energy could account for the vast majority of the mass in the observable universe. In physical cosmology, astronomy and celestial mechanics, dark energy is a hypothetical form of energy that permeates all of space and tends to increase the rate of expansion of the universe. Dark energy is the most popular way to explain recent observations and experiments that the universe appears to be expanding at an accelerating rate. In the standard model of cosmology, dark energy currently accounts for 74% of the total mass-energy of the universe.Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson is an American astrophysicist and the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Trial and quandary, deconstruction and construction. Visual reality looks like this, and not differently, due to a complex and "simple" dynamic system of cosmic rules. The lead and the "end product" are also visual and are reflected through our own limited, albeit to us precise senses. Are we capable of changing the rules? Are they changeable ? From whence comes the will to change?

Authors at Google: David Brin

David Brin is a scientist, speaker, technical consultant and world-known author. His novels have been New York Times Bestsellers, winning multiple Hugo, Nebula and other awards. At least a dozen have been translated into more than twenty languages. As a speaker, he is best-known as a "futurist" who comments plausibly and entertainingly about trends in technology and society, including some of the challenges that may confront our rambunctious civilization in the decades ahead. One favorite topic: creativity, or helping members of the audience think "out of the box" about both near- and long-term problems. His 1989 ecological thriller, Earth, foreshadowed global warming, cyberwarfare and near-future trends such as the World Wide Web*. A 1998 movie, directed by Kevin Costner, was loosely based on The Postman. EXISTENCE - David Brin's bold newest novel (due June 2012) explores the ultimate question. Billions of planets may be ripe for life, even intelligence. So where is everybody? Do civilizations make the same fatal mistakes, over and over? Might we be the first to cross the mine-field, evading every trap to learn the secret of Existence? This talk took place at Google LA on March 26, 2012.
