As a follow up to last year's blockbuster Batman Begins, Christopher Nolan is set to direct Warner Bros. Pictures' The Dark Knight, written by Jonathan Nolan, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer. The film will be produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan. Additionally, Christian Bale will resume his role as Bruce Wayne and Academy Award nominee Heath Ledger has been cast as The Joker. The announcements were made today by Jeff Robinov, President of Production, Warner Bros. Pictures. Christopher Nolan revamped the Batman franchise in 2005 with the immensely successful Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale in the title role, which chronicled the early years of the superhero. Nolan first garnered attention from critics and fans in 2000 with the groundbreaking drama Memento, which he wrote and directed. He went on to direct the thriller Insomnia, starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams, and recently wrapped production on The Prestige, with Hugh Jackman and Bale. Bale was most recently seen in the ensemble cast of Terrence Malick's The New World. His other credits include Little Women, Portrait of a Lady, Metroland, American Psycho, Laurel Canyon and Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, which was his first starring role. Ledger most recently earned Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG Award nominations and won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in the award-winning drama Brokeback Mountain <b>...</b>

The raised part you see is whats suppose to be left of the football field. He comes out and pulls the microphone from the dead? ref on the ground outside the tunnel where he comes out with his thugs and someone he has prisoner. This is a trailer for TDK, set in the style of the recent Inception trailer - music, titles, etc. This isn't TDK scenes spliced over the Inception trailer - this truly does serve as a trailer for TDK that'll maybe make you wanna go back and revisit the film, or remember why you liked it (or didn't, LOL). Anyhow, I liked the idea and I think it turned out alright. Its looking like that much talked about and anticipated scene will NOT be happening! While Christopher Nolan will begin filming portions of The Dark Knight Rises in New York City over the span of the next two weeks, a Warner Bros., rep told our pals at entertainment weekly that there are no plans to shoot in Zuccotti Park, the home base for the Occupy Wall Street movement. As you guys know, rumors started swirling after an open casting call for NYC extras for the project hit the web, and last week a source told the LA times that quote, "Cast members have been told the shoot could include scenes shot at the Occupy Wall Street protests" and that Nolan could be using "the protests as a backdrop or a stand-in for something that already exists in the film," but that simply doesn't seem to be the case.
