From Babyface's 1991 CD "A Closer Look" "Two Occasions" is a R&B song written by Babyface, Darnell Bristol and Sid Johnson (who was the former manager for Babyface's early group, Manchild) It was produced by Babyface and LA Reid for The Deele's third studio album Eyes of a Stranger (1987). The ballad was released as the album's second single in 1988. It's the only song on the album that features Babyface on lead vocals, which alternate between himself, Bristol, and Carlos "Satin" Greene throughout the course of the song. It has since been remade into a live version with added vocals from Babyface with all original vocals from The Deele intact; this version appeared three years later on his album, A Closer Look.

This is a rare 12'' single from the album Material Thangz, released in 1985. The Deele was an R&B/Synth-Funk Band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in the early 1980s. Its members were Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds along with Antonio 'LA' Reid, Carlos "Satin" Greene, Darnell "Dee" Bristol, Stanley Burke, and Kevin "Kayo" Roberson. The group released four albums in the 1980s and one album in 1992. Their string of hits were: Body Talk, Surrender, Material Thangz, Suspicious, Sweet November, and their well know ballards, 'ShootEm Up Movies',and 'Two Occasions'. This group was a launching pad for two members: Babyface Edmonds and LA Reid, who went on to becoming one of most succesfull R&B music production duos. Kevin 'Kayo' Roverson, also went on to produce for other artists during the 1990s, as well as being a songwriter, co-producer, and studio bass guitarist. After a long absence from the music scene, The Deele reunited in 2007 with Carlos "Satin" Greene, Darnell "Dee" Bristol, Stanley Burke, and Kevin "Kayo" Roberson as the members.
