This is a very easy way to kill the 2-1 boss. Having killed this boss a few times in the traditional way I feel it is a rather difficult fight, this method makes it an easy takedown. Using a mediocre bow on a magic focused character on new game + you can see that it is still quite easy. This is great for new players still getting used to the game and wishing to proceed. This character is in new game+ at around soul level 98. She is focused in magic while using alot of magic parameter weapons with mana regen. This is my second main character having gotten a platinum on the game with my first. I look forward to adding more videos for Demons Souls in the future. Please ask me any questions you have.

No matter how many times I re-edit and upload this file, it plays at 4 min 45 secs when it should only be 2 min 45 secs. I would only recommend using this walkthrough if you plan on going back to get the items from this level later, or seperately. Also, if you do go back to finish it out later, go with a powered up bow or God's Wrath miracle to clear out the crystal lizard room swiftly. Soul ray & the fragrance mp renewal ring (being a royal) is also helpful for most of the enemies on this level and against the boss. Also bring a good flame resistant shield.

Using a Level 477 female character, I was able to beat 4-2 in my 7th new game. I did this offline with no help from other online players. Equipment Layout: Head: Assasin's Hood "Can be found in 3-1 4th floor." Chest: Gloom Armor "Can be taken if you kill Yurt in 3-2" Arm: Brushwood Armor "Can be taken from 1-1 or killing biorr in 1-2/1-4" Legs: Brushwood Armor "Can be taken from 1-1 or killing biorr in 1-2/1-4" Rings: = Dull Rat's Ring = When HP is 30%, increases defense. (Rescue Rydell in 3-1) = Eternal Warrior's Ring = Increases stamina regeneration speed. Finally, gameplay! One thing I neglected to mention in the commentary is what two-handed grip actually DOES for you. It increases your effective strength by 50% for both stat bonuses to damage and meeting stat requirements. It also prevents your attacks from recoiling when striking a shield, which is great because otherwise you're wide open and take extra damage until you recover. Since the falchion the wander starts with benefits more from dexterity than strength (which always confused me, since falchions are kinda hefty chopping swords, not slicing and dicing weapons), two-handing it doesn't really boost the damage THAT much, but it's better than nothing. Besides, I'm not gonna be using that wooden shield anyway...

Figured I show some more Blue Phantom videos before I move on to the Black Phantom ones. Here, Maz and I help a friend get through 4-1. Like most people starting Demon's Souls, they may have had a hard time with the game in general. This is the good thing about summoning Blue Phantoms, they can assist you in taking out the various enemies and to help deal with any high level threats. Though in this video, it just seems like Maz and I are carrying him throughout the level. Could say that we did, but we did show him most of the item locations, how to safely deal with certain enemies, and so on. We were communicating through an outside VOIP also, so we were feeding him helpful information. Even though I am supposedly a veteran at the game, I still end up making silly mistakes on this run :XI did make up for it though. Part 1 of 2. This boss can be very difficult. However, you can attack through the fog of this boss. Which means you can shoot arrows through it until he dies. I went through the shortcut right away, because I didn't feel like climbing all the way back up the level just to use the shortcut to take out Black Phantom Scirvir. Decided to just do that first, then go down to the exit of the last cave, and go through the hard parts, then go for Flamelurker. It's too bad I died at my first attempt on Flamelurker. I mistakingly tried to block with my bow, as well as messed up the timing of when to eat grass. I also noobishly allowed myself to be cornered. I'm actually surprised I took him out on my second try; there were many times where I thought I wouldn't be able to dodge a few hits, and where I didn't think I'd have time to heal up, but I guess it worked out well for me in the end.

My 1st legit attempt at Flamelurker after a PB tendency kill of Scirvir and the Primevil Demon... what a night. Too bad I didnt have the attributes at 18 to equip my new ToB... :D Either way, this kill was enough to go from PB to PW tendency after the other two. Love this @#$ game! For this kill I stuck with Soul Arrow, Purple Flame Shield forged up +2, light black leather set for the weight/rolling, and silver circlet for MP boost. Lots of Fullmoon grass and plenty of caffeine ! Using weopons that are magic based are not recomended because all enemies are magic based. This means that fire works very well here, in all its forms. This guide is for the Royalty class, but I'm sure you could still learn a thing or two if you have a different class. I died only once before recording this, so it is possible to do this as easy as you will see here. Ok, so first, the easiest class to get through the hardest part in this game, the beginning 1-1, is with the Royalty class since it comes packing with a really good spell to get through this level, the Soul Arrow spell. You can basically nuke most of the enemies in this level from far and kill them with one shoot. This class also comes with a nice ring that regenerates your mana, so basically you will have this spell always available to kill everything in your path Second thing, is patience. Be patient; take one enemy at a time. It's all about overcoming each challenge one at a time. Third, lure. If you see enemies clustered together, shoot one with soul arrow (or with a bow) and make them come to you. Or go near one to get their attention and then run back to a more opened area. Fourth, block! Use that shield! :P Hold L1 and let them attack then hit back. thats it. Actually, you can even attack WHILE blocking with short weapons like the rapier. Fifth, learn the controls and how to access everything. One very important thing is how to quickly switch between your sword and your catalyst (item you need to cast spells). And lastly, do not let your hp fall below 50%, because these things hit hard and they could surprise you with one hit, so be very careful. If <b>...</b>

One of the easier soul farming runs I do in Demons Souls is located in 4-2. All and all, it takes about 2-3 real life minutes to run as a mage with the help of a decent bow. This particular recording was done in my 2nd playthrough with my mage and neutral/slightly white world tendancy. As a random FYI, at the time of this recording, I had a Longbow +10 with Heavy Arrows and my Magic stat was in the low 90's. If you don't have Fireball you can use Flame Toss instead. The Auto-Rez miracle is not truely needed, but I like to cast it before the Black Skeleton because if I am going to somehow mess up the run and die, it is 99% of the time going to happen against him due to the camera weirdness/stairs/archway as I run up to get his attention. In Pure Black World Tendancy, wearing the Silver Bracelet and Ring of Avarice, this run will get you about 18K souls during the first playthrough. In New Game Plus, this identical run will net you close to 35K souls. If you have the Thirst spell, then I am sure that you could get even more souls in a single run.

Here's another little video of some multiplayer Demon's Souls play. This time a run through of 4-2 including the boss fight against Old Hero. There's only one invading Black Phantom player this time, which is weird because usually this is one of the most invaded areas but there you go. The other invited Blue Phantom player had the ridiculously overpowered Firestorm spell so there wasn't much work to be done but it made for some pretty explosions so meh. This is the Asian version of the game, if you like the looks of it be sure to pick up the US release in October, it comes with a bunch of extras and fresh servers so everyone will be on a level playing field. By what this boss looks like and its forboding appearence in the intro, its nothing at all what you would expect it to be. The obvious danger is its attacks, whick can kill even a very high level character in one hit. The key to beating this boss is being patient, watching the dragons eyes, and a theifs ring andhaving your equip weight below 50%. This is the tutorial for the second level in the 3rd archstone. I did a lot of cutting out to make the video fit the time limit. Sorry if this confuses anyone. In this level you will run into Yurt, (the really bad ass looking guy in the loading screen, with the pointy helmet). Turns out he is an assassin sent to kill you. Bummer. But you have a chance to kill him and take his armour when you free him from the cell. Let him walk around a bit then take you best hits at him and he should die before he gets a chance to even attack. You can also just back stab him off the platform and he will obviously die.
