His Spring/Summer collection is filled with two things Cavalli has always been known for--sexiness and fringe. He showcases a woman's sexual side without using a lot of color, but the body is enhanced in various exotic ways. He says its not enough to see a runway show for 50 seconds, you have to feel, touch, and see each piece close up to truly understand his method. He chose some of the top models to showcase the collection because he believes every model should have the right step to make the fringe move in the right way. And grew up in the Willowdale area. They are the youngest of nine children. Their parents were from Napoli,Italy. In 1983, they moved to New York to study fashion at Parsons The New School for Design, but stayed only one semester before returning to Toronto. Finding a financial backer in 1986, they launched their first signature womenswear collection, DEanDAN. By 1988 they had signed on to label Ports International (currently Ports 1961) as creative directors to bring the company more fashion forward and upscale. At the same time, Dean and Dan designed for their lower-end, leisure brand, Tabi International. In 1991, the brothers moved to Milan, Italy where they worked as designers for the house of Gianni Versace, and denim brand Diesel, the latter of which funded and launched their namesake brand. They debuted their men's collection in 1994, and in 2003, they launched a women's collection and a men's underwear collection. Lusuardi says that the collection displays a return to minimalism in terms of minimalist tailoring with an athletic touch. There is also a return to bold fluorescent colors like neon pink, orange, and yellow. The trench, sailor jacket, and day jacket are reinterpreted with new fabrics and double materials, including jersey, which allows the jacket to be worn in a form fitting, smaller size that remains comfortable. The MaxMara team plays with trends like color block and stripes and focuses on the Mary Jane shoe, which is made modern with a rubber heel. Lusuardi says MaxMara is launching a new bag called Olympia, which is worn as both a handbag and shoulder bag. He says this collection stems from the idea of basics, using typical fabrics like white poplin for a classic men's shirt. From there, he creates more elaborate garments that are rich in detail but even those are lined with the typical poplin. He also worked with fabrics like georgette, chiffon, silk, heavy crepe de chine, and brocade from upholstry. He especially likes the idea of working with a flexible fabric that is suitable for many things, especially white shirts.
