Detour - Prijatelj

This video was mostly inspired by the Paul Thomas Anderson's utterly brilliant film "Magnolia" (1999) Edgar G. Ulmer's mystery film-noir "Detour" (1945) and Leftfield's "Swords" music video. Furthering the idea, the basis of this video is the intimate atmosphere, connected people and the main theme of the "Detour" song which fits perfectly into this universe of interconnected lives. Water that was used for the rain is representing one strong emotional effect which was primarily the focus of this video, this kind of emotion in an urban environment gives the whole video deeper personal experience. *** Detour "Prijatelj" Directed by Filip Philatz Filkovic Camera: Tomislav Brdjanovic Editing Montage: Filip Philatz Filkovic Script / Storyboard / Idea: Filip Philatz Filkovic DOP: Brdjanovich / Filkovic Visual Effects / Post-Production / Design: Filip Philatz Filkovic Production: Midnight Formula / Brdjanovich tv 2nd Camera Assistant (Loader): Damir Volaric Raf 1st gaffer: Slaven Sekrst 2nd gaffer: Boris Zimsek Grip: Predrag Stefanovic Peggy, Zoran Kostelac Rain special effect: Branko Repalust Sound effects edit: Filip Philatz Filkovic / Nenad Borgudan Additional voice-over: Maja Posavec / Nenad Borgudan / Zoran Kostelac Audio supervisor: Tomislav Brdjanovic Production management: Ivan Filkovic 2nd location manager: Ivan Mikulic Making of camera: Damir Horvatovic Photographs: Daniel Lekke Kasaj, Filip Cargonja Filming location: King Cross Jankomir premises, Zagreb - Croatia Cast ...

Detour

New York nightclub pianist Al Roberts decides to hitchhike to Hollywood to see his girl, Sue. When the sleazy gambler he's riding with dies en route, he impulsively takes the man's identity to hide from the police. A mysterious woman blackmails him and we watch his accidental descent into a life of crime. Despite a miniscule budget, this powerful and seedy drama was one of the most profitable films ever made.

1/5 - DETOUR (1945)

'Detour (1945) is a film noir cult classic that stars Tom Neal, Ann Savage, Claudia Drake and Edmund MacDonald. The movie was adapted by Martin Goldsmith and Martin Mooney (uncredited) from Goldsmith's novel and was directed by Edgar G. Ulmer. The 68-minute film was released by the Producers Releasing Corporation (PRC), one of the so-called "poverty row" film studios in mid-twentieth century Hollywood. Although made on a small budget with bare sets and straightforward camera work, Detour has gathered much praise through the years and is held in high regard. In 1992, Detour was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". Critical response to the film today is almost universally positive. Most reviewers contrast the technical shoddiness of the film with its successful atmospherics. Film critic Roger Ebert wrote: "This movie from Hollywood's poverty row, shot in six days, filled with technical errors and ham-handed narrative, starring a man who can only pout and a woman who can only sneer, should have faded from sight soon after it was released in 1945. And yet it lives on, haunting and creepy, an embodiment of the guilty soul of film noir. No one who has seen it has easily forgotten it." He also included it in his list of great films. Sight and Sound reviewer Phillip Kemp would later write: "Using unknown actors and filming with no more than three minimal ...

We saw your "WTF is DETOUR" review, and you have beautifully illustrated the issues we're rapidly massaging out of the game. We'll be fixing up many of the issues, as well as taking some suggestions you and FearTheFlame specifically mentioned (such as hotkeys for navigating the item menu.) On Monday, we are rolling out a build that should solve 2 glaring issues; - Truck pathing should not longer fail completely. You should never get that "Truck wiggle" where the truck appears to not know the path you've obviously laid out for it. It was an issue with other players building road, and the map pathing incorrectly re-calculating truck movement. They should now never do the crazy stuff you guys experienced, and should now appear to be much smarter behind the wheel. - Items that are too expensive will be grayed out (this was a bug that was introduced just prior to your review, and we feel it made the interface even more confusing, which is another thing we'll be tackling seperately.) Billie Holiday - Detour Ahead

Detour Ahead written by Johnny Frigo, Herb Ellis and Lou Carter performed by Billie Holiday (Lady Day) with Tiny Grimes' Sextet recorded 29 April 1951 issued as Aladdin 3094, in May 1951 The sextet includes Tiny Grimes (tenor guitar), Heywood Henry (baritone sax) and Bobby Tucker (piano). Written by the "Soft Winds" jazz trio of violinist Johnny Frigo, guitarist Herb Ellis and pianist Lou Carter, "Detour Ahead" is one of Holiday's overlooked masterpieces, in part because it is a weird footnote in her career. It was one of four tracks she recorded for Eddie and Leo Mesner's Aladdin label (which mainly issued R&B records), with backing by Tiny Grimes' Sextet, which were rarely anthologized. Holiday's singing on "Detour" is nonpareil, as she takes the at-times goofy driving metaphors of the lyric and infuses them with slow grace, melancholy and experience. "The further you travel, the harder to unravel," she sings, with the sound of someone already deeply snared in the web.
BNSF Detour Trains 6-23-11

Due to an outage at Minot, ND on BNSF's Northern Transcon, all traffic has been rerouted through Laurel. The intermodals and container trains are being routed over Montana Rail Link and the manifest and grain traffic is being routed through Great Falls. What you can't hear is the unintentinally hilarious reactions of horrified passengers. "What's the Red Line doing up here?" "It's not running in the subway?" "You mean I have to walk two blocks!?" "I have to transfer to a BUS!?" Come on, people! Adapt or perish! This detour was announced beforehand in the media. None of the stations on the detour are more than eight blocks from those on the normal route. Most were one or two. Roosevelt and Clark/Lake are free transfers! One advantage of this temporary route, that usually only Purple and Brown Line passengers get to enjoy: A beautiful vista of the skyscrapers on either side of the Chicago River, and the bascule bridges across it.

The last artist of the weekend was a nice man called Alex, who plays in a band called Franz Ferdinand. We put him in a caravan, and he finished the weekend off in style, with a Kinks cover and an exclusive first play of a new Franz Ferdinand track. 1. This Time Tomorrow (Kinks cover) 2. Now that there is increasing speculation amongst analysts that things are moving in that direction, one has to wonder if such a development will usher in a new era of interactivity with users engaging in free-association with raw data with only limited mediation or will it merely increase the entertainment industry's stranglehold on passive viewers?

"Detour" custom movie trailer

Conceived as a B-movie, Detour was shot in six days with a budget of approximately $20000. With re-shoots out of the question for such a low budget movie, director Edgar G. Ulmer made the decision to place storytelling conventions above continuity. Detour's famous example of this is the reversal of the hitchhiking scenes. In order to parallel the westbound New York to Los Angeles travel of the character with right-to-left movement across the screen, many scenes had to be flipped. This caused the cars to appear to be driving on the wrong side of the road, and the hitchhiker to enter the car on the driver's side. In 1992, Detour was selected for preservation in ...
