
packershalloffame.com http Hey, Rich. We're just doing a little camera work here in Rich's basement, and [it] reminded me of being in front of some cameras in New York one day. I was publicizing Instant Replay, and had an opportunity to do the "Today Show" and the "Tonight Show" in the same day. I did the "Today Show" in the morning with Joe Garagiola, and he was very comfortable to be with. And it was a very easy interview, and we whisked through it. And after the interview, Joe looked at me and said, "Oh, you're going to do the granddaddy of them all tonight, huh?" I says, "What do you mean?" He says, "The 'Tonight Show.' There will be 20 million people watching that show." And I thought about it a little bit, and I go, "Well, it's an interview show. You know, it's... I mean, it's no pressure on me. I can go yep, nope, nope, yep, yep, I don't know. So there's no pressure on me. I'm fine." So, I think about it a little bit and that afternoon, five or six o'clock, I go to the "Tonight Show" and I go into the makeup room. And I'm sitting there getting some makeup on, and Doc Severinsen and Ed McMahon walk into the makeup room. "Hey, Jerry. How you doing?" I said, "Fine. Fine. I'm doing fine. I'm doing fine." And I'm going, What in the world is that? So, I get my makeup on and we go up into the Green Room. And Judy Garland is there and Dom DeLuise and Shari Lewis and other folks. And Dick Schaap is there and a friend of mine from Kentucky. And so, we're sitting there and I <b>...</b>
