Ken Laszlo, born as Gianni Coraini, is an Italodisco singer who commenced his music career in the 1980s. Ken started his musical interests early in the '80s by playing and singing in discos and clubs. He was interested in music at a young age, but had his first big hit in Europe in 1984 with the single Hey Hey Guy. Other songs he is well known for are Tonight and Don't Cry. Ken has quite a number of other Eurobeat songs that have been produced under his name and under many pseudonyms by various labels, some being Ric Fellini, KL Jones, DJ NRG, Mike Freeman, Gordon Jim, Maltese, Danny Keith, Jean Corraine, J. Robert Parissi had started a band, but wound up in the hospital before he was able to jam with them and pick a name. During a hospital visit, one of his bandmates remarked that "we still don't have a name" on leaving the room, so when Robert saw the words "Wild Cherry" on a box of cough drops nearby, he immediately realized the double meaning and decided that would be the name of the band. This incarnation was signed to Brown Bag records which was managed by Grand Funk Railroad member, Terry Knight. Personnel changes led to the breakup of the group and Parissi got a day job managing steakhouses, but in 1976 he felt encouraged by the sounds on the radio to try again. Since they were a rock band in the middle of the disco era, they were booked in many discos but told by many to "play that funky music". While chatting with the band offstage, Parissi mentioned the customer requests and asked how could we satisfy the disco and rock crowd when a band member said "Play That Funky Music, white boy." Inspired, he wrote down the words and set them aside. Once "Play That Funky Music" was recorded, it was set as the B side of the Commodores cover of "I Feel Sanctified". The response to "Funky" was positive and it became the A side in time for their deal with Epic to be inked. The electric funk sounds of Wild Cherry powered the song to #1 status for three weeks and spent a total of 26 weeks on the Hot 100. Unable to come up with suitable material to equal "Funky", Wild Cherry broke up <b>...</b>

Tim nessa época era conhecido como Babulina, por conta da pronúncia do rockabilly Bop-A-Lena de Ronnie Self (apelido que Jorge Ben tinha pelo mesmo motivo)[1] Em 1957, fundou o Grupo vocal Os Sputniks, do qual participaram Roberto Carlos, Arlênio Silva, Edson Trindade e Wellington, ao contrário do que muitos pensam Erasmo Carlos nunca fez parte do grupo; Erasmo fez parte do The Snakes, grupo que acompanhava tanto Roberto quanto Tim após o fim do The Sputniks.
